A Message from Cali ACT President—Jacqui Reber

Hi Everyone,

How lucky are we to live in the ACT where life has been relatively normal and we can continue to participate in the activities we love. It is wonderful to see our teams taking the stage this weekend – albeit with a remote adjudicator. We thank Rebecca very much for adjudicating from her home in South Australia and I wish all our teams a great competition. Remember that success comes in many forms and that all achievements should be celebrated.

This weekend we will also be highlighting some wonderful people in our community who were the recipients of Awards last year but who we did not get a chance to thank properly for all they have achieved. It is with great pleasure that I look for-ward to presenting them to you over the course of the weekend.

While Nationals was not to be this year it is almost time to look forward to 2022 and to this end an invitation to apply for coaching positions for the ACT State Team will go out to our coaches next week. I know we have many talented coaches here in the ACT and I would encourage you to apply for a position if you are looking to further your coaching experience and to work with some very talented performers. While State team coaching is certainly challenging it brings with it an enormous opportunity for growth and development for both coaches and participants alike, and is well worth the work involved.

On a completely different note – Calisthenics ACT is seeking a young person who is interested in social media to assist with the management and posting of events on our facebook page. We need someone who is familiar with social media platforms, has a bit of creativity and is keen to help to promote calisthenics and events in our community. The position would suit a responsible Senior or Inter and we would love to hear from anyone interested. Might be a good opportunity to get some experience for your future resume! Please get in touch with me, or anyone else on the Board if you are interested in finding out more. This can be either directly or through your coach or someone from your Club.

Finally, on behalf of all the ACT Cali community I would like to extend our thanks to Kerry and her team for a wonderful competition and for making it all work in the face of the challenges of the crazy world we now find ourselves living in. Thank you to you all!!
