The NSFAF Student Account is a financial services product created as a result of the partnership with Bank Windhoek. The Student Account offers an array of services and has been developed to cater for your specific needs. Only students who have financial assistance from NSFAF qualify for the NSFAF Student Account and have access to the unique benefits of this product.

About the NSFAF Student account card

At Bank Windhoek we strive to offer products and services that will satisfy your financial needs. If you are a student enrolled with a tertiary institution with the financial assistance of NSFAF, you can start taking your first steps to financial freedom with the NSFAF Student Account Card, which performs like a fully-functional Bank Windhoek Visa Debit Card.

• Enjoy convenience and flexibility when withdrawing cash from an ATM or purchasing goods and services at your local shop.

• Have secure worldwide access to your funds, in over 170 countries, wherever Visa is accepted.

• Make purchases at all Visa outlets internationally, up to a maximum of N$2,000 per day.

• Withdraw cash of up to N$1,000 at any local or foreign ATM displaying a Visa or NamSwitch emblem, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

• Student have freedom to increase card limits via Electronic Banking channels or in the branch.

What is required, when you collect your NSFAF Student Account Card?

• NSFAF Award letters• Please bring along your proof of registration as a full-

time or part-time student at a tertiary institution.• You will also be required to bring along your Namibian

Identity Document/valid Namibian Passport/Namibian Refugee Identity Document/Valid Voters Card

How do you collect your NSFAF Student Account card?

• You can collect your NSFAF Student Account card at your nearest Bank Windhoek Branch countrywide.

What are the security features of your NSFAF Student Account Card?

• All NSFAF Student Account Cards are embedded with a microchip on the face of the card and require a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to be entered when used, in order to gain access to the funds on the account.

• The information contained on the microchip of your card makes use of encryption technology that authenticates the card as genuine, every time it is presented for payment.

How do you use your NSFAF Student Account card?

• To pay for merchandise with your student card, simply hand it to the cashier, who will insert it into the POS device and ask you to enter your PIN.

• Your card will remain in the POS device for the duration of the transaction. By entering your unique PIN, you authourise the payment from your account.

• Remember not to share your PIN with anyone and to shield the keypad so that no one can see your PIN when you are prompted to enter it.

• No signature is required if your PIN was entered, unless the merchant requests it.

Can you use your NSFAF Student Account card internationally?

• Your NSFAF Student Account card is endorsed by Visa through a partnership with Bank Windhoek and is accepted worldwide, wherever a Visa logo is displayed.

Can you use your NSFAF Student Account card at an ATM?

• Yes, you can use your card at an ATM, where the Visa logo is visible. Your first three withdrawals at a Bank

Windhoek ATM each month are free, thereafter, costs are incurred.

Can you use your NSFAF Student Account card on the Internet?

• Yes, you can use your NSFAF Student Account when making purchases online without incurring additional costs.

What do you do if you forget your PIN?

• Please contact your nearest Bank Windhoek branch for further assistance. Please remember to bring your ID along.

What do you do if your PIN is blocked?

• Your PIN will be blocked after three unsuccessful attempts at an ATM or POS device. To replace your card, please visit your nearest Bank Windhoek branch.

What to do if your NSFAF Student Account card is lost or stolen?

• Immediately report your card lost or stolen at your nearest Bank Windhoek Branch, or Call our 24-hour Customer Contact Centre on (061) 299 1200 to block your card. Should you make use of the Bank Windhoek Mobile App, you will be able to switch your card ON or OFF within the app.

• Visit your nearest branch to order a new card. Be advised that there is a cost associated with ordering a new card.
