From a Marianist Community of student brothers open to visitors for Sunday Eucharist, Queen of Apostles Community emerged as a non-territorial parish on August 28, 1973.

Continuing in the tradition of the Marianist Charism, we come together each week as a family of Catholic, Christian believers, to worship our God in the Eucharist with song &

praise and to share in the breaking of the Bread. In so doing, we proclaim our willingness to build a community of love and to be the holy people God calls us to be.

If you are visiting and worshipping with us for the first time, we extend to you our warmest welcome. Our prayer is that your worship experience will be uplifting and Spirit filled.

We hope you will visit us often and worship with us!

(If you’d like more information about us or would like to join our Community, please fill out the form on the back cover and drop it in the collection basket!)

NOTE: If the form on the back is missing, email [email protected] with your name, phone number, address and we’ll contact you about joining us.

Marianist Doxology May the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit be glorified in all places

through the Immaculate Virgin Mary.

QUEEN OF APOSTLES COMMUNITY (QAC)

“THE SPIRIT” & SUNDAY HOMILIES ON LINE: Visit our QAC website at qac-ohio.org. On the main page, you’ll find ‘The Spirit of QAC’ under ‘Our Community.’ ‘Homilies’ are listed under ‘Sunday Bulletin.’

STEWARDSHIP & GIVING

Feast of Pentecost: “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-6). All of us are blessed, regardless of our own individual circumstances; God has given each of us many gifts. How we use those gifts is our gift back to God. For God’s plan to work, each must do what we are called to do and guess what – we are not all called to do the same thing!

Feast of Pentecost

Acts 2:1-11: According to Luke, this event took place on the feast of Pentecost, which commemorates the giving of the law on Mt. Sinai, an event accompanied by wind and fire. The writers of scripture always have their reasons for situating events in certain contexts. The coming of the Spirit, in any case, cannot be limited to any particular moment in history. It is a constant and dynamic reality. Most important are the Spirit’s dynamism in the church.

1 Corinthians12:3b-7, 12-13: It makes no sense for Christians to squabble over whose spiritual gifts are greater. All genuine gifts and charisms come from the one God; and the test of their authenticity is the degree to which they build up or divide the community in whose service they are to be exercised. The gifts of the Spirit create unity in the church; divisiveness is a sure sign that the gift does not come from God.

John 15:26-27, 16:12-15: The Holy Spirit speaks to and through Christians in every age and place—and will continue to do so until the end of time. We understand far less about how to live Christ’s love now than we will in the twenty-second century. The peoples of the pre-Christian era understood God’s nature and plan far less than those who lived In later years.

Ministers Taking Eucharist to Those Not With Us

Presider: Let us send these ministers to those who could not be with us.

Response: Receive the Body of Christ for the nourishment of those who are not here with us. Assure our friends of our prayers and blessings throughout the week.

A 1965 UD graduate, Romaguera was a professor at the University for more than 30 years. He taught French, but spoke a number of non-English languages, including his native Spanish, allowing him to lead courses in comparative phonetics. “Enrique was widely known across campus and throughout Dayton, especially in the arts community,” said Provost Paul Benson. “He attended virtually every concert or play that was on offer, and he never missed a film at the Neon. He was a terribly kind and thoughtful person.” A native of Puerto Rico, Romaguera was a member of Queen of Apostles parish for more than 40 years, and a great friend of the Marianists throughout his life, said Father Thomas Schroer, S.M. Funeral arrangements are pending.
