Pioneering spirit and meticulous working have a tradition at GEZE, and it spans back to the founding of the

company in Stuttgart-Feuerbach in 1863. The small construction fittings factory soon developed into a leading

developer and manufacturer of systems for door, window and safety technology.

Today GEZE door closers are some of the best known in the world. GEZE has proven its power to innovate with

numerous awards, including, for example, the “Top 100“ innovation prize in 2002 and 2009.

1863Carl Bauer sets up the “construction fittings factory“ in Stuttgart-Feuerbach.

1898Production begins on ski bindings to utilise summer and winter production.

1911The product range is expandedto include skylight openers, door closers and hold-open systems.

1936Christel Kranz and Franz Pfnür win gold medals at the Winter Olympics with GEZE‘s “Kandahar“ ski bindings.

1938 75-year company anniversary. The company now has 300 employees and has developed into a recognised medium-sized company.

1959The company moves to Leonberg.

1968Reinhold Vöster transfers his share of the company and, with it, the management to his granddaughter Brigitte Vöster.

1980The product range focuses on complete solutions for doors and windows. Automatic door solutions gain increasing significance.

1996A production site is founded in Tianjin, China.

1997The Slimdrive SL automatic sliding door drive is premiered. With a height of just seven centimetres, it represents a miles-tone in product design.

Since 1999 The company has continued to expand internationally, and now has 27 subsidia-ries and numerous representatives across the world.

2005 and 2008 GEZE receives the “TOP JOB“ seal of approval and the “TOP Employer in Germany 2008“ award for outstanding staff management.

2009 GEZE once again receives the “TOP 100“ award for innovations, ideas and investments, as well as the „reddot design award“ for outstanding product design.

2010Construction begins on an ultra modern production site in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

ducts in the quickest possible time,

the products are manufactured in

various locations across the glo-

be. GEZE company headquarters have been located in Leonberg,

near Stuttgart, since 1959. Over 900

highly qualified employees utilise

their expertise and skills in a cen-

tre of excellence and ultra modern

production facility. The combined

know-how of the staff is used to

create innovative and pioneering

products. Leonberg and Germany

will remain the key locations for de-

velopment and production in the

future.

In 1996, GEZE founded a produc-tion site in the Chinese port of Tianjin. Today the hundred-percent

subsidiary is extremely successful,

and employs over 300 members

of staff. This direct engagement in

China serves both to meet the in-

creasing demand on the Asian and

global markets, and to consolidate

GEZE‘s position within the region.

2010 saw a further production site open its gates in the Serbian town

of Zrenjanin, near Belgrade. This

site is contributing to intensifying

relations in the Eastern European

markets.

In recent years, GEZE has brought

numerous new products and inno-

vations to market, which will not

just improve our future; they are

also improving our lives today. This

is why GEZE is in the top 15 percent

of companies with the most patents

in Germany. At the end of 2010,

GEZE had over 305 national patents

and patent applications. Abroad

the figure stood at 403. The unique

nature and distinctiveness of GEZE

products is protected with 230 re-

gistered trademarks. This sees GEZE

ranked in 16th place according to

the statistics published by the Ger-

man Patent and Trademark office.

Ecological, economical and social responsibility stand at the heart of sus-

tainability at GEZE. Preserving the livelihood of future generations is part

Economic responsibility is closely

linked with the company‘s princip-

les. It includes the claim to expand

using our own resources as a mat-

ter of principle, and to secure jobs

over the long-term. The exceptio-

nally high equity ratio of 80 percent

allows GEZE to maintain its inde-

pendence from third parties.

Social responsibility

Through our commitment and par-

ticipation in society and social affairs,

we want to help promote social de-

velopment and to enrich cultural life.

Our work has many forms, including

the generous financial support of

the Olgäle Foundation for Sick Child-

ren e.V. in Stuttgart, the German

Children‘s Cancer Foundation, and

the Stuttgart House of Literature.

Ecological responsibility

As a "Top 100" innovator, GEZE

uses sustainable investment and

innovations to fulfil the latest

technical standards. Questions

of sustainability are considered

throughout the product deve-

lopment stages.

We employ our own in-house

Environmental Protection Offi-

cer, and are continuously looking

towards reducing our consump-

tion of energy. We achieve this

with the help of modern ligh-

ting controls, energy-efficient

production and conveyor facili-

ties, and, not least, through the

responsible measures taken by

our employees. In line with the

strategy "Avoid - Utilise - Dispo-

se", at GEZE the motto is to avoid

rubbish being created in the first

place. Thanks to the high pro-

portion of metallic raw materials

in GEZE products, they are great

for recycling.
