AdClub is the OSU chapter of the American Advertising Federation. It is what has made the biggest impact on me during college, and I couldn’t imagine my life without it. I have been a member of the club since the begining, and now am president. AdClub connects students with professionals and gives us a better perspective on the industry.

Sigma Alpha Lambda is a national honors and leadership organization that I am also president of. Last yeat, this organziation was a “dying” club, with only four activite members, two of which were graduating. Since then, I have put together aleadership team of officers, and we have had three successful social and philanthropy events, with 20+ members attending. The goal of this year was to grow the organization, and that goal is being reached.

The National Student Advertising Competition team is the best experience an advertising student can have while in school. The team puts together a fully-integrated marketing campaign for a real client during two semesters. Last year, State Farm was the client, and this year JCPenney is the client. I am the account manager of the team this year and am leading 12 students through the campaign process.

I like to stay busy. Since I can remember I have been involved in clubs and organizations

on campus and in various communities. I believe that is the best way to meet people with similar goals and values as me,

as well as have tons of fun while doing something productive.

A SWOT Analysis is a great way to evaluate a product, company, or in this case, a person to better understand it.

This table identifies my strengths and weakness, as well as points out what opportunities and threats may impact my job search and hire.

Here is where I am from. Here is what I know. Here is where my people are. Here is where I love.

Don’t get me wrong - I love to travel. Visiting tropical states like Florida and huge cities like NYC were great memories and places I’d love to vacation to again, but those places aren’t home.

My home is the Midwest. I was born and raised in Lawton, Okla., which is in southwest Oklahoma and has a population about 100k and also Ft. Sill Artillery Base.

Oklahoma is a great place to live, and cities like Oklahoma City and Tulsa are growing at tremendous rates. I have met many professionals in the Oklahoma cities and have toured a handful of agencies. I haven’t been to one that hasn’t impressed me.

Texas also has a lot to offer and I would be a fool to not consider it in my job search as a place to start a career. AAF Dallas and Houston, organizations for advertising professionals, have hosted student conferences where I have been able to network with Texas professionals and see a few agencies. Both Dallas and Houston seemed to be bursting with opportunity and potential.

There is just no logical reason why I would want to leave this part of the country. So many talented companies are here and new ones springing up every year with fresh talent and awesome work.

It’s too exciting of a place to leave now.

After graduation, I hope to start my career in the Southern Midwest region of the United States

Why here?

Because it just makes sense.

Cliché or not, I am a people-person, and I am proud of it. Working with clients is where I want to be in the marketing process.

Communicating has always been a strong trait of mine, and what I have seen in the industry, account services is all about effective communication.

Through my experience at Traction Marketing Group (www.tractionokc.com) as account services intern this past summer and as account manager NSAC team, I have learned to communicate with the different departments in an agency and with the different personality types.

I also have learned that a strong communicator not only speaks well andpresents information in an effective way but also listens just as much or more.

Working in account services is where I can most benefit an agency and a client.

After graduation, I hope to start my career at an advertising agency in the account services department.

Why Account Services?

Fun Fact 1: I am the youngest of threeWhy do you care? This makes me a good learner with a sharp eye for opportunities and threats. The youngest is always considered “the baby” who is spoiled rotten and gets away with murder, this is just one side of the story. Youngest children learn to watch and learn from their older siblings so not to make their same mistakes. Its just strategy.

Fun Fact 2: Gardening is my favorite hobbyWhy do you care?I understand the value of persistence, hard work and responsibility. Gardeners cannot expect to plant a seed, leave it in soil for a few days and have a beautiful garden spring up. Gardening takes patience and constant effort. I take pride in growing vegetable plants and work every day to keep my garden alive and producing. Gardening has helped grow mypatience and work ethic.

Fun Fact 3: I am from a Christian familyWhy do you care?I have been instilled with Christianmorals and values from an early age, which has an effect on my lifestyle and work. I do believe that everyone has the right to believe in what ever it is that they want, but I think working for an organization that has Christian values would be the most beneficial for both of us. Fun Fact 4: I want a pug

Why do you care?I have no baggage, not even a dog. Although, some people have opted to get married and have children in their early twenties, that has not been part of my plan. I am focused on learning as much aspossible and building a career. I am ready and willing to go where ever the industry takes me and have made my career priority.
