The flexibility of the MTC Executive MBA allows learners to combine study with a full-time career. Learners will study over a longer period through online workshops as well as two day on campus sessions four times a year at Aston Business School or at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). This gives learners the opportunity to apply new skills and theoretical knowledge straight away.

Teaching and Learning:The programme is spread over 30 months to accommodate full-time work and personal responsibilities. Over a period of two years, learners will combine four weekend residentials a year at Aston Business School or the MTC, in addition to interactive online learning.

With the MTC, MBA learners have all the flexibility of learning around personal and work commitments, with the rich experience of learning on-campus, in a face-to-face environment with peers and leading academics.

Assessments:Modules are assessed by individual assignments and group work where learners will have the opportunity to analyse live complex business problems. Learners will study eight 15 credit modules as well as completing the 60 credit MBA project.

The course concludes with a major project that allows learners to put new knowledge into practice. This can be approached in a number of ways including a live consultancy project with a business, a themed research project, producing a business plan for a startup or writing a report about a company where learners are working or interning.

Entry Requirements:To be eligible to study the MTC MBA learners will need one of the following:

• A good UK honours degree

• A degree-level professional qualification

Plus

• At least three years’ relevant post-graduation work experience

• Two references – at least one from their current or previous employer. The second can be another professional reference or an academic reference.

Applicants with extensive work experience

We accept applications from candidates with extensive work experience who have not completed a graduate qualification. An assessment will be made through the learner’s CV, references and an interview to assess suitability for the course.

Currently there are three starting entry points - September, January & April.

The Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC) is a national centre of excellence for developing high level skills in advanced manufacturing. In conjunction with our partner Aston Business School, we are providing an MBA designed for senior leaders and managers in manufacturing. Work based projects are designed to support learning and to add value to your company. Graduates can achieve Chartered Manager upon completion of the programme.
