Little Blue Boxes Coming Soon

With the start of the school year we have many autumn events happening. One of these is the Fall UTO (United Thank Offering) drive. The little blue UTO boxes will be in the narthex on Sept.10th. Please take one home , set it out in a prominent place and feed it loose coins whenever you feel thankful for God's love that you feel. The money will be collected in November and will go to missionary projects throughout the Episcopal Church. Also, it helps you and your children remember all God's blessings. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

St. Arbucks moves to Starbucks in Marysville for the school year, beginning in September on Wednesdays at 10:00am. All are welcome for this informal fellowship. Questions: Fran Montgomery 937-654-5518 or [email protected]. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Being part of a strong community is one of the best blessings of getting involved at St. Pat's.

The Foyer Dinner Group Ministry provides a warm and caring way to do just that. Summer's end is near and that means it is time to sign up to be a part of this opportunity to get to really know other members of the congregation while enjoying a group pot luck, attending an art exhibition, a sporting event, an outing at the zoo, or even an evening out at one of your favorite eateries.

My own group, this year, has enjoyed asking new members who have joined St. Patrick's throughout the year to join us. We just keep saying, the more the merrier, and it has been so true. I just finished listening to a lecture by Dr. Daniel Amen (no joke!) who is a neuroscientist and psychiatrist. He says that "where you bring your attention determines how you feel." And putting our attention into becoming friends with our Foyer Group has made us feel both grateful and happy.

Sign-up sheets will be in available at the St. Pat's Open House today, and in the Narthex through the end of September. At this point we will send out information by mail to all who are participating along with someone in each group designated to get the ball rolling.

Groups generally consist of eight members of both couples and singles; although, my own group has ended up with fourteen mem-bers we have gathered along our merry way.

Betty Lyle and I both look forward to having you stop by our table to learn more and sign-up. Sandra Demel ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Vestry News—This year the vestry has designated two areas for our general consideration: Welcom-ing Newcomers, and Forgiveness. As part of our leadership with the congregation we will publish some short notices each week about these topics. Forgiveness—Forgiveness doesn’t happen all at once. It is a process. We commit to it over and over again until it sticks. Welcome—Invite visitors to coffee in the parish hall after the 9:30 service. Sometimes, visitors leave right after the service. With an invitation to coffee they might get to know people better.
