POSTLUDE “God Be With You, Till We Meet Again” Tomer/Rankin LUKE 6:27-38 (NIV)

“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE)

Assisted Hearing devices and large print hymnals and bulletins are available for use during services. Please contact an usher if you would like to use one of these.

CALL TO WORSHIP L: Come, let us bow down in worship, P: Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; L: For he is our God P: And we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

HYMN “O Worship the King” No. 104

(Verses 1, 4 & 5)

PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (In Unison)

Lord, you taught us to do to others as we would have others do to us and to love our enemies. Lead us all, friend and enemy alike from prejudice to truth: deliver us all from hatred, cruelty, and revenge. Fill us with your love so that we may be an instrument of your peace and enable us all to stand reconciled before you, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Announcements for February 24, 2019

PUERTO RICO

Please be in prayer for those from the mission team serving in Puerto Rico.

2019 ANNUAL MEETING TODAY

The annual meeting for the church IS TODAY, at 11:45 a.m. in Souers Hall. We are installing new deacons as well as voting on new officers and the budget. The meeting is open to everyone, but only church members may vote. Your attendance is important in the planning for the future of our church, and a quorum of the congregation is needed. Child care will be provided in the Rec Room and Nursery during the meeting. The 2018 Annual Report is available today from an usher or anytime during the week from the church office.

SPAGHETTI DINNER and RAFFLE

Ticket sales for the Pulse and Ignite Youth Groups’ 5th annual fundraising spaghetti dinner featuring entertainer Tim Rilley begin TODAY, after each service in Souers Hall. The dinner on Friday, March 22, features two seatings—one at 5:00 p.m. and another at 7:00 p.m. Come and enjoy a delicious meal while listening to the singing of Tim Rilley. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children.

Check out the raffle baskets TODAY, in Souers Hall. Raffle tickets will be on sale each Sunday after services until the spaghetti dinner. All money raised will be used to support the youth’s summer mission trips to San Diego, California, and Flagstaff, Arizona.
