A growing offer at the service of creativityWith 221 exhibitors registered for the next edition - taking place 16 to 18 September in Hall 5 of the Parc d’Expositions de Villepinte - the show of creative textiles and surface design is beating its own attendance records.Studios and designers are up 9% from the September 2013 edition, which, with 203 exhibitors, had already reflected strong growth. All exhibitors are carefully selected to meet the needs of a fashion mar-ket eager for new and imaginative quality proposals.

The salon strengthens its leadership position with an edition that looks once again rich in strong and creative proposals for autumn winter 2015-16. All products and styles are represented - from prints to embroideries, jacquards, blends of textile technologies and engineered motifs - with some, such as embellishments, even enjoying strengthened visibility.

Indigo also affirms its appeal, especially internationally, by welcoming a true melting pot of exhibitors of new and diverse geographic origin. Principally European (86%) - mainly from the United Kingdom (46%), France (15%), Italy (13%) and Germany (4%) - exhibitors also hail from the United States (8% of participants), Asia (2%) and Latin America (2%)- presenting an enhanced offer this session.

Among the exhibitors at the next edition, 22 new participants are showing for the first time: 15 studios from Europe - the United Kingdom (5), France (3), Italy (4), Germany (1) and Spain (2) -, the United States (4), Latin America - Brazil (1) and for the first time Ecuador (1) - and India (1). Also noteworthy is the return after some seasons of the Spanish design studio and children’s specialist Toc de Groc and the historic British studio Palm Designs.

Adding to these 22 new exhibitors are the 24 finalists from the British Texprint® competition, of which Indigo is a partner (see more information below). And, as an indication of the show’s appeal to the young generation, the show welcomes the second parti-cipation of 2 Texprint® winners from September 2013, Pepe Lowe and Hannah Hope-Johnson, and Kate Willingham, founder of See+Quin, a Texprint® finalist in 2000.

Also presenting at the show will be 3 design schools from the United Kingdom, Belgium and Switzerland. They are an important source of creativity and innovation for show visitors constantly on the lookout for new products. Also of note is the presence of American studio Creative Surface Design and British studios Palm Designs and Eyefix, regular exhibitors at the Indigo New York show which, in a further demonstration of Indigo’s legitimacy among professionals, are trusting the Paris show to accompany them in European markets.

Finally, reinforcing the offer presented at Knitwear Solutions - the platform at Première Vision dedicated to crea-tive flatbed knits - 14 knit-specialist studios are presenting ideas for developments in terms of styles, stitches and shapes at Indigo, underlining the synergy between the shows.

Faced with the growing demands of international markets, and to meet the ever-faster pace of collection renewals, brands rely increasingly on differentiation. And what better way to update their offer than investing in textile design, especially the infinitely rich offer from the Indigo studios?

It’s the support from markets with a high demand for innovative prints and creativity that reveals the full appeal of Indigo.

Complementing Influences, the inspirational leaflet made available to the show’s buyers, the Indigo fashion team also displays seasonal trends for patterns and textile designs in its fashion area. For autumn winter 2015-16, a medley of inspirations invites invention, motion and renewal but with a simplicity of expression, allowing creativity to get to the essence while remaining rich and diverse.

Within the forum, dive into the heart of the season’s inspirations and influences through patterns and developments selected from the offer from exhibiting studios and designers. At the heart of a vertiginously mobile game of hoops, discover the season’s themes and, for the first time, inspiring highlights for the the children’s market - a major market for the textile design industry

For autumn winter 2015-16:

• Narrative perspectives plays on volumes to create illusions and shift viewing angles;• Poetic diagrams establish networks and connections between thought and pattern through sketches and drawings, where manual expression transcribes creative notions; • Fantastic stories evokes eerie decorations, strange animals, extraordinary landscapes and abstract motifs, covering the entire surface;• X-rayed nature gives way to a new photography joining transparency to opacity, revealing flowers and leaves in depth, like solarized lithographs;• Motifs join in collections and multiples, according to scale, colour relationships, or visual affinities...however motifs are arranged, it’s the way they are positioned that makes the difference and creates new designs; • Basic geometry combines to create new motifs. Squares, triangles, circles and other simple shapes are assembled in a new take on mosaics.

Indigo : a medley of creative expression. A generous and inspiring look to the future

«At Indigo, studios present their own culture, DNA and artistic directions. The young designers at the Texprint competition are a boundless source of creativity. They are in a sense our R&D. Their designs are new and innovative, and they aren’t afraid to be bold and show a variety and diversity of textile techniques: mixes of print and embroidery, prints and knits, or 3D textiles with unusual materials. Exhibiting at the show is a way for them to approach the fabric sector as professionals. And for our visitors they are a rich source of creati-vity,» said Gilles Lasbordes, Managing Director of Première Vision and Indigo show director.

The by-now indispensable Indigo bag!An exhibitor at Indigo for several seasons now, Russian design studio Solstudio Textile Design updates the show bag this season with an innovative and original design created specially for the Paris show around the X-rayed nature theme.
