BROADEN YOUR VIEWStudying abroad enhances your education and gives you an understanding of world cultures, a valuable asset personally and in the job market. Miami’s worldwide programs give you choices to fit your budget and schedule, from Winter Term or Summer Term, to a class trip over spring break, or a semester or yearlong customized experience.

FROM MICROSCOPES TO MACROECONOMICSResearch is important at Miami in every area of study. And we don’t reserve research for graduate students. Each year, more than 2,000 undergraduates conduct hands-on research with professors and develop impressive credentials for future employment or admission to top graduate schools.

Learningis not aspectator sport.

We take your success

Although Miami is a medium-size school, we have a BIG reputation for giving our students the kind of personal attention and career preparation that is almost impossible to find at a mega-university. Our top priority is teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.

We attract nationally recognized faculty who love to teach. Our faculty will en- courage you to get involved — and find out if a major is right for you — by guiding you in creative pursuits, recruiting real-world clients for class projects, and introducing you to internship and career connections. Miami creates an engaged learning environment that helps students reach their goals and prepare for a lifetime of success.

DEVELOP YOUR INTERESTS, MAKE LIFELONG FRIENDS.Your life here can combine the ideal college campus and the classic college town of Oxford, Ohio. It’s a close-knit feeling, with almost all our students living in university housing or in Oxford. It’s a big reason why students develop such a close connection to each other and to Miami.

Our comfortable residence halls are clustered around green, tree-shaded spaces. It’s where students hang out on the patios or toss a football on the lawn. And where you will make lifelong friends.

And what you eat is just as important as where you live. We have almost too many on-campus choices (28 of them!) to list: dining halls, cafés, specialty restaurants, and convenience markets. It’s like home cooking, if your home stretches from Brazil to the Pacific Rim!

By the time you toss your Miami mortarboard in the air at graduation, you’re ready. For just about anything. You’ve made professional presentations. You’ve had internships and field experiences. You’ve networked with corporate executives, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and helpful Miami alumni. You’ll be ready to take your place in the world because you’ve already been there, exploring your possibilities.

One measure of a Miami education is the endorsement of the companies that hire our graduates. Employers conduct four times as many on-campus interviews at Miami when compared to peer institutions. Why? Surveyed employers value what they describe as our “high caliber of students” who have received a “top tier and prestigious” education. The Center for Career Exploration and Success sponsors one of the nation’s largest collegiate career fairs, and offers specialized teacher and architecture and design job fairs.

EHS offers many hands-on field experiences and internships, as well as undergraduate majors in Athletic Training, Family Science, Inclusive Special Education, Kine-siology, Nutrition, Public Health, Social Work, Special Education, Sport Leadership and Management, and Teacher Education.

Miami undergraduates develop expertise in their chosen field by participating in opportunities like the Urban Cohort, a health-related research project, or one of the nation’s few international student-teaching programs.

At Miami, transfer students can complete teacher education licensure programs in less time than at many other universities. And for social work students, it has never been easier to transfer to Miami with our degree pathways.
