At ROLLING HILLS COMMUNITY CHURCH we are truly a grateful people of God and we’ve been entrusted with sharing Christ’s love in our homes, our communities, our nation and to the ends of the earth. As we boldly pursue this Great Commission, let us embrace the vision described here in these pages and faithfully commit to

REACHING OUT, GROWING UP and GIVING ALL for His Kingdom!

FAMILY MINISTRYThe Family Ministry at Rolling Hills represents preschool, elementary, middle and high school children and their parents. Everything we do from birth through senior year aims at developing parents and discipling children to create stronger families.  What we teach, sched-ule, spend and do creates and supports an environment where children learn more about God at their stage of development, and parents learn to engage their children in spiritual ways at home. Parents are the primary disciple makers of their children, but they are not the only disciple makers. We come alongside families to help children know Christ and His Word so that they can follow Him with their lives. In 2012, we are excited to open a brand-new children’s space that will allow us to continue reaching the next generation for Christ.

WORSHIPWe craft our Sunday morning worship experience as a time to encounter our Creator’s presence through Scripture, music, the arts, multi-media, and communion of the Holy Eucharist. Our vision for worship is to partner with God and change the world by embracing an authentic truth that all of life is sacred, hope is real, and you are never too far from or close to God to take the next step in your spiritual journey.

MISSIONSMissions is foundational to the character of Rolling Hills. Our vision is to connect, equip and resource individuals to serve in our community, state, country and world. Currently, we have 225 orphans sponsored in the country of Moldova, as well as transitional living homes for girls and for boys. In South Africa, we feed more than 100 children their only meal a day. In Brazil we have established four micro-enterprise projects and built water purification systems that deliver clean water to seven villages along the Amazon River. Together in 2012, we will conduct six community service days, three national mission trips, and nine international mission trips as we share the gospel with the least, the last and the lost.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH Rolling Hills is not a building. We are a living, breathing body of believers, and we are called to go into this community where God has placed us. Statistics show that 60 percent of the people within our area are unchurched. If we are to “go and make disciples of all nations” as we are instructed, it has to start here in our own backyard. Our vision for reaching the community starts with relationships forged by you, our Rolling Hills partners, with the unchurched people in your spheres of influence. In addition, we plan to host community events that provide an opportunity to meet our neighbors and welcome them into a relationship with God and His church.

CHURCH PLANTING Rolling Hills is grateful for the blessings God has bestowed on us as we’ve grown here in Franklin and are now called to go into other communities and countries to spread the gospel of Christ. Church multiplication is essential to expanding our ministry in this way, and we are at a point in the life of our church where we are ready to take this step. In 2012, our vision is to identify an area of Middle Tennessee where we can establish a multi-site campus. In addition, we plan to leverage our relationships with mission partners overseas to begin the process of planting a church in Cape Town, South Africa.

ADULTDISCIPLESHIPSpiritual growth is a priority here at Rolling Hills. We offer more than 50 small groups on different nights of the week throughout the greater Nashville/Franklin area. We encourage all people who call Rolling Hills “home” to discover their spiritual gifts, focus their life passions, and use them for God’s glory through service on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. Our vision is to come alongside adults as they take the next step in their spiritual journey. In 2012, we will expand our small group offerings in addition to providing biblically based, personal-growth classes like Celebrate Recovery ® and Financial Peace University®.

Did you know that we, as a church, tithe on our tithe? We give 10% of what is given in the offering baskets on Sunday mornings to invest in local, national and international ministry.

Did you know that statistically less than 20% of Christians practice biblical tithing (giving their first 10% back to God)? While we here at Rolling

Hills are a little higher than the average, this is still a challenge for us as a church. Can you imagine if just 50% of people trusted God and tithed how much of a difference it would make in their life as well as in God’s kingdom? Or, what about all of us – 100%? Yes!

Do you know how much it takes to heat, air condition, clean, landscape and upkeep your house? Now, imagine going from 1,500 square feet to 146,000 square feet (that is the size of the building God has given us to manage as His house). It takes all of us.

Think about what it takes just to take care of one child or student. It takes curriculum, classroom, furniture, bathrooms, toilet paper, paper towels, educational supplies, staff, interns, volunteer training, background checks, a

security guard and more. We pay property taxes for our kids to go to school (or private school tuition), and it takes dollars for their spiritual education as well. Our responsibility is to help raise up the next generation in Christ. This takes prayers, time and money.

Finally, if we are to accomplish the God-given vision inside this brochure, it is going to take all of us investing our time, prayers and money. The only thing that is “free” is God’s grace. We must invest together to make a difference for the global glory of God in our day and in our generation. If you have never given, then why not now? Trust God in this. As Malachi 4:10 says, “’Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.’”

PRAY“Prayer isn’t preparation for the greater work. Prayer is the greater work.”– Oswald Chambers • Pick up God’s Word and read it. If you

have questions, good. God has placed you within a body of believers and we are called to walk together.

• Thoughtfully commit at least 10 minutes

every day to talking with God. What will you say for 10 minutes? Here is the “A.C.T.S” guide to help.

ADORATION – Praise God for who He is. CONFESSION – Confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. THANKSGIVING – Thank God for specific things He has done. SUPPLICATION – Ask God for things you want Him to do for you, for others and for His church.

SERVE“If you can’t feed one hundred people, feed one person.” – Mother Teresa • DO SOMETHING. Anything. Pause from your

agenda and serve others with no expectations of receiving gifts in return.

• Start on Sunday mornings by WORSHIPING

ONE HOUR AND SERVING THE OTHER. You are needed as a greeter; parking attendant; preschool, children, student or college ministry teacher; prayer warrior; worship team member; and more. It doesn’t matter what you choose because it’s not about the position, it’s about you serving.

• SERVE IN THE COMMUNITY at one of our

upcoming Saturday Serve days. Or, don’t wait for us and serve on a random Tuesday or whenever you see an opportunity to meet a need.

• GO ON A MISSION TRIP. Get away from the

distractions of your daily life and completely commit to serving those less fortunate on a national or international mission trip.

GIVE“Tithing is not a financial issue, it is a faith issue. It is trusting that God is your provider at all times in all ways.” – C.S. Lewis • GOD HAS AND WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE FOR HIS

CHURCH. Tithing is about making a statement of faith and practicing obedience. It’s about knowing and trusting that God can do more through you with 90% than you can do alone with 100%.

• GET YOUR FINANCES IN LINE WITH GOD’S WILL FOR YOUR

LIFE. No matter if it’s poor financial decisions, mismanage-ment of money or unavoidable circumstances, a key to being able to tithe biblically is having the other 90% of your finances in order. If you need assistance in this area we have classes designed to help you reduce debt and reprioritize the way you use the resources God has entrusted to you. It is a faith issue.

• GIFTS ARE OVER AND ABOVE OUR TITHES. There will

be times when we’re called to give over an above our first 10% to support an orphan in Moldova, give to Wildest Dreams or help fund a well project in South Africa…that’s fantastic! These are all great causes and we are called to offer up these gifts. However, we should set a strong foundation with our first 10%, then, as we are blessed we are called to be a blessing to others. Learn more and give online at rollinghillscommunity.org/donations.

This is not a campaign for Rolling Hills. This is a lifelong challenge for all Christ followers to step out in faith and participate in the biblical acts of tithing and giving. James 1:17 reminds us, “EVERY GOOD AND PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE…” and giving back to God is our act of worship, realizing it all belongs to Him.
