Columbian Chronicle OCT- DEC 2019 IN THIS ISSUE DIWALI MELA Mount Columbus School organized Diwali Mela in the school premises on 19 th Oct., 2019. Various games, stalls and food counters were arranged by the students of Mount Columbus School. All the students and the staff members put in great efforts in making the program a great success. The students enjoyed the event. Parents also enjoyed the mela. Overall, it was a well- planned program to make the students enjoy the right spirit of Diwali. Message from the Principal Dear Columbus Family With a great sense of pride, I present to you the first edition of our school’s newsletter, ‘Columbian Chronicle’ (to be published quarterly). “Whatever good we see in our world today is because of an educative mind behind it. We at Mount Columbus School truly believe it. You can learn a lot about a place by simply walking around and observing. Our school has a warm, genuine and happy feel. Each day I am greeted with happy and engaged students who are involved in purposeful learning. Our students are proud to say that they are a part of Mount Columbus School and we in turn are proud to have them. Whether it be the contribution they make to the interschool sporting teams, the fantastic artwork they produce, their confidence to speak in front of a large audience, by their participation in different competitions the support they provide their friends in times of need - all makes me swell with pride. ATHLETIC MEET

Annual Athletic Meet 2019 was

organized in the school premises for

classes Nursery to IX. It was a three

day event held from 22nd

Oct., 2019

to 24th

Oct., 2019. The Chief Guest

for the meet was Mr. Naresh

Dhawan, General Secretary, Delhi

State Power Lifting Association and

Mr. Prem Singh Rawat, Trustee of

the school. The events included the fun races, 100m race, relay race etc.

All the students enthusiastically

participated in all the events.

Hudson House emerged the sports

champions and bagged the Rolling Trophy for sports.

RECOGNITION AND

AWARDS

It was a moment of pride when our

respected Principal received

Principal of the Year Award-

2019 organised by Global Gurus,

Pragyan Brahma. In a remarkable

feat Uday Shikari of X A secured

III position in English Essay

Writing competition held at Zonal

level by Directorate of Education.

He also made the school proud by

bagging II position in Poetry

Recitation at Zonal level and

I position in English Essay Writing

Competition at the District level

organized by the Directorate of

Education.

Uday Shikari and Augustya Kumar

of X A made the school proud by

clearing the First and the Second

level of ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ quiz

competition and went for the

Regional level.

Another feather in the cap was

added when the model of young

scientists of our school got a place

in best 18 models selected for

Nationals in Regional Level CBSE

Science Exhibition 2019-20.

CHILDRENS’ DAY

On the occasion of Childrens’

Day, students of classes I, II and

V enjoyed the Magic Show

organized in the school premises.

Classes III, IV and VI had a gala

time visiting Kiran Nadar

Museum. They enjoyed doing

various crafts work and had a learning experience.

Tiny tots of Nursery and K.G.

classes went to Kidzania where

they played various games and

enjoyed a lot.
