He wears a cross around his neck to keep him grounded in both plains. It remindshim of his Catholic faith.

³I don¶t need it though,´ Chris Fleming said. ³It just reminds me.´Fleming is a sensitive/medium/paranormal specialist who guided the ghost hunt at

Park University on October 21, 2010 at 7:30 pm. The event was put on by Student Life.

The chapel entrance was bustling with activity. The first 40 people were able togo on the ghost hunt after Fleming¶s presentation. Typical Halloween music was leakingout of the Chapel doors.

I am not sure what possessed me to go along for the night. I am the girl whohides behind my hands at any sight of a scary movie. I sleep with the door closed incase

of ghosts and I try to stay away from graveyards when I go for runs. But I was there.A slide show of haunted places played in the background while Fleming got ready

for the night.I had the chance to speak to Fleming before the show. His tone was mellow. His

presence was oddly comforting. As we were conversing he kept twitching his eyes back and forth in the room.

³Ever since I have been in here I have seen things,´ he apologized.Fleming explained how some individuals cannot see spirits because they are not

fully aware of our surroundings. Humans can only see 95% of their environment . Hemade it clear this was good. It made me question what could we see if we could see

everything in our world?³Don¶t be surprised if you see something during the show,´ Fleming said and then

walked away.He began the show with slides of photos with ghosts. He informed us this was to

get our blood boiling. My blood was already boiling. These photos were typical photos you would see all over the Internet but for some

reason the setting of the Chapel made my hairs stand on end.Fleming then told his personal accounts of his ghostly experiences. At the age of

five he began seeing shadow ghosts coming out of his bedroom walls. From there hisencounters skyrocketed.

One incident he recalled was when he was awakened by his sister¶s screams. Atthis point the little boy was petrified and slept with his parents. Fleming and his father

went to check on his sister. His sister insisted there was a ghost standing at the age of her  bed.

Fleming was ecstatic he finally had another eyewitness but his father still did not believe him. He was told to go back to bed or he would be sleeping in his own room.

Without hesitation he made his way back to his parents room.As he entered the master bedroom a black figure was standing face to face with

him.³All I kept thinking was I want to go back to bed,´ Fleming said. ³Just let me go

back to bed.´The figure faded away. This was when he knew he could communicate with

ghosts through his thoughts.During Fleming¶s presentation you constantly seen heads turn around and search

for the unknown. Aiden Galarza and Ben Bondurant began to feel shuffling behind their seats and the room suddenly dropped in temperature.

Next Fleming shared his EVP¶s he has recorded. EVP stands for electronic voice phenomenon. He records himself asking questions and then plays it back. Theoretically

a voice should be speaking back to him. These EVP¶s were beyond scary. They rangedfrom ³I¶m not dead´ to ³There was a murder´ and ³Hi pretty«ice my lip.´

When it was time for questions I assumed the whole chapel would have their

hands raised but I think we were all in shock. Galarza asked if he has kept his Catholicfaith through all of this.He described his faith and how it played a big part in keeping him protected. He

believes every religion touches base on some truth.Fleming wanted to do an experiment. He called us all on stage and got out his

ghost box. This ghost box went through radio stations at a high speed. He would ask questions and ghosts were suppose to respond. And they did.

Fleming asked various questions including who haunted the chapel.³Priest.´

The chapel is known to be haunted by a priest. One of the music students askedthe box: who practices here most often and the box responded with his name. Of course

there was tons of static and I was skeptical if our imaginations and our desire to hear answers were allowing us to hear what we wanted to hear but then he brought out the

video camera.I was standing right behind him when he started video taping the front of the

chapel. He asked the ghost to be seen. As I was looking at the video a blue circle wentaround the front of the chapel and looped around. People saw it with their own two eyes.

The 40 people on the list gathered outside to head around Park University. As wewere climbing the stairs I asked Fleming if his dad ever believed him. He smiled.

³He finally did,´ Fleming said. ³He told me µChris this was meant for you, thiswas not meant for me. You were born for this.´

As we entered a building everyone became quiet as Fleming pulled out his taperecorder. We never received any messages on the tape recorder but we heard a bang in

one of the classrooms. So what did we decide to do? Go into a classroom with the lightsout.

This classroom was slanted on one side and knick knacks were scatteredeverywhere including several pieces of old furniture and hula hoops.

Chris took a seat in an old chair. He got out his recorder and began to ask questions.

Nothing responded back.I felt like my journey here had ended and I left. The ghost hunt still lingered after

me as I kept my eyes open for most of the night.Fleming is an extraordinary man I wish I could sit down with and absorb all of his

stories. Even if you don¶t believe in ghosts his passion wants to make you want to believe.
