A fairy tale (pronounced /ˈfeəriˌteɪl/) is a type of short story that typically
features folkloric fantasy characters, such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, dwarves, giants, mermaids or gnomes, and usually magic or enchantments. However, only a small number of the
stories refer to fairies.
Fractured fairy tales are traditional fairy tales, rearranged to create new
plots with different meanings or messages. Fractured fairy tales, with a seek to impart updated social and moral
messages.
Take a fairy tale or nursery rhyme you are familiar with and “fracture” it.
You will be creating your own fractured fairy tale.
The book will be done in “landscape” format.
There will be a 1” margin around the entire page.
You may use any type and size of font you choose! Be creative!
There must be appropriate illustrations on every page. The illustrations can either be drawn by you, or pasted clip art you have found.
This project will be done mostly in class. There will be steps along they way that you will be graded on, as well as the finished product.
Remember to use good word choice, solid sentence fluency and make sure Your story has a GREAT VOICE!
