A Day in the Life of Guy the Grass

Shrimp

Hello guys, my name is Guy the Grass Shrimp. Wanna know what a day in my life is like? We’ll I’m here to tell you all about it. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the story.

When I look in the mirror, I see one handsome dude. I can be a yellowish brown color or even transparent. I have a horn called a rostrum on my head and I won’t grow to be more than 5 centimeters long.

I can live in freshwater, brackish water, or sea water. I like living near the water’s edge. My home is the Country Club Creek behind Savannah State University.

I have a hearty diet, but I don’t search hard for food. I wait for food opportunities like dining at the mysid café. I also enjoy eating decaying marsh grass and nematodes.

I am always on the lookout for predators. I seem to be a favorite of the red drum.

I also seem to be a favorite of the blue crabs. I think it might be a good time to become transparent.

Oh no parasites! I try hard to stay away from parasites like Isopods and Trematodes. The only problem is they are invisible so it’s gonna be hard.
