A CULTURE OF EXCELLENCEAs the world’s first hotel school, founded in 1893, EHL prepares the leaders of tomorrow in partnership with the Swiss and international hospitality industry. Its philosophy of learning, combining experience and discovery, leads to the mastery of the arts and sciences of hospitality management.

EHL certification recognizes institutions which are best-in-class, or becoming best-in-class, in their respective country/region. Each school demonstrates a high commitment toward hospitality education and partners with its local industry.

Schools enter into a programme of periodic reviews, quality improvement, and faculty training to maintain the certification. Faculty and management of each school undergo the EHL Qualified Learning Facilitator’s training programme, designed to transfer the art and science of facilitating learning. Students from the certified institutions are facilitated in their learning endeavors, through benchmark curriculums, bespoke campus facilities, and mobility opportunities within the certified schools.

Lausanne Hospitality Consulting (LHC) is a Swiss knowledge development and management advisory company. It is a subsidiary of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and the Swiss Hotel Association—hotelleriesuisse. Established over 30 years ago, LHC has developed hospitality education centres utilizing a structured approach which combines the experience of Lausanne and the philosophy of Swiss excellence.

LHC is the agency appointed by EHL to assess all applicant institutions and manage the relationship between EHL and its certified schools.

KING ABDUL-AZIZ UNIVERSITY TOURISM INSTITUTE (KAUTI),JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA

Launched in 2010, the Tourism Faculty is the leading of its kind in Saudia Arabia. As part of the King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah it offers a state-of-the-art English language Bachelor programme in Hospitality Management that was developed in collaboration with EHL.

The modern campus is designed for 500 students and boasts an application hotel where students can practice their skills.

BEIJING HOSPITALITY INSTITUTE (BHI), BEIJING, CHINA

Beijing Hospitality Institute (BHI) was established in 2008 after being approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE), China. BHI joined the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) certified schools network in 2009. BHI focuses on the hospitality education, offering only one Hospitality Management Programme. With its educational philosophy “Internationalization and application-orientation”, BHI strives to be a university that promotes honesty, integrity, discipline and equality. It has obtained the recognition of the hospitality industry and the admiration of its stakeholders. Guilin Tourism University (GTU) was founded in 1985 and boasts two campuses located in the downtown (Canluan) and uptown (Yanshan) districts of Guilin.

It is one of the top ranked higher learning hospitality institution in China. Over 9,000 students hailing from the different parts of China and ASEAN which make this campus vibrant and international.

The campus is modern and well equipped with facilities that help its students to learn hands-on. In 2015, GTU launched a Bachelor in Hospitality management that was developed with the Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne.
