WOMEN'S WORK IN ITALY

The most important resource for the economy: women’s work

The Bank of Italy underlines that GDP would rise by 7% if the 14% more of women worked. Is there a most valuable asset? Yet in the past 15 years, Italy has only losed positions in the equality index of the World Economic Forum. Today we are at 69th place.

An organizational model to be changed

Today, women are ready to add their value. Work, also thanks to women, returns to be suitable for life.

We are working for this. We want to apply the way reasoning of women, their approach to work, their aspirations and cut out a space that enhances these features and enhances productivity.

We do not want only equal opportunities, we also want different ones!

A “PLAN C” IS POSSIBLE

At the end of 2012 it opened in Milan the first space in Italy which brings together women and work.

Launched as a reality of coworking and services for women and dads, Piano C wants to actually prove that a new way of working is possible and that happiness and productivity are not a zero-sum game.

In 2012, Piano C won the first prize as “Best social innovator in Europe”, awarded by the European Investment Bank

VISION AND MISSION

We design and propose new solutions to transform the

encounter between women and work into a source of innovation and wealth for the economy and for the society as a whole.

We work together with institutions, companies and people in order to make this happen.

THE LOCATION

COWORKING E COMMUNITY

• A growing community of over 4000 members, followers and stakeholders (companies, institutions, media, etc.)

• A weekly coworking community of 100 women (and fathers) among startups, freelances, smart worker employees, associations, event’s attendees, etc.

• Every year, more than 100 events on networking, inspiration, diversity, leadership and training

• An inspiring location of 300 metres for events, meeting rooms, temporary office, connections and contaminations

COBABY® AND SAVE-TIME SERVICES®

A sustainable format of baby care with social prices available in Piano C; cobaby format can be replicated in companies’ temporary spaces for child’s employees care or as a temporary service for events

A network of 50 save-time agreements (local shop, e-commerce, ect.) available for Piano C community.

• Bridge to Work ®– a bridge between school and work:

– dedicated to those who finished their education, Bridge to Work is based on very practical micro-planning activities, which allow young people to keep themselves visible and on the move;

• Back to Work® – to go back to work after a break:

– dedicated to those who want to go back to work after an absence;

• Rework® – your job can become a passion:

– dedicated to those who have a job but are not totally satisfied with it; those who would like to “change the frequency”, improve their participation, re-invent themselves.

• Within the bigger goal of changing the common ideas about “women and jobs”, we launched a program for start-ups led by women.

• Go-to-startup! is focused on business plan, finance and brand awareness.

• Parallel to the growth of the start-ups, a research center analyzes the peculiar aspects emerging from female entrepreneurship, in order to better identify its characteristics, the strong and weak aspects, and the positive models.

We believe that, if we will be able to replicate online the dynamics and the good practices that we experiment offline, our impact will be much bigger. For this reason, we are developing an online platform, structured as follows:

• 1) COMPETENCE NETWORK: it profiles all of the skills of our users as a set, putting them into a network with each other and with Piano C’s services and opportunities throughout the whole country;

• 2) COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT: thanks to the use of neural networks, it sketches and stimulates a program of professional growth and work identity development, offering training, services and professional synergies;

• 3) COMPETENCE MARKET: it creates a direct link to the companies looking for specific professional skills, with handy and innovative formats.

• Established in 2015, it is an innovative national network of networking, coworking spaces and facilities to empower new organizational models exploiting new and different forces, beginning with those of women and families.

• The network gathers 30.000 people all over Italy and new coworking spaces are enjoying our community.

• PCPN aims at spreading out own cultural and social impact with innovative actions of social co-design, of co-storytelling and of advocacy.
