The public
realm is in constant need of a
stage or place or wall or even a oor that would provide as a setting for a wide range of hum
an activi-ties. These hum
an interactions, private or public, create a setting where characters m
eet and learn from each other, voluntary or involuntary. The
theatrical production like the public realm requires actors, an audi-
ence, a stage and a theater. Being the audience’s role prominence in every
situation, space can be inspired by the everyday life and changes of the outside world. W
hile the program allows the literal division of the building in two, theater
and school, the idea of engaging the public and the private realms as well as
interior/exterior spaces allows the building to ow from space to space in a
subtle experience. With the creation of a transitional space where public and pri-
vate meets without constrains, dram
a students will have the opportunity to engage and learn from
the lives of the everyday public of the city, where prag-m
atic appearances and panoramas can be ob-
served outside the conned spaces of a classroom

The juncture of wine tasting bar and oces and wine production area with direct access to the winery’s crop is represented as a two bar building that house on the top bar the public service areas that overlook to the production area. such as fermentation tanks. The shift of the two bars has a direct relationship with the positioning of the building on the landscape: the public bar overlooking to the vineyards and the Cayuga Lake and the service bar opening as a big garage to the service road for quick access. The landscape depicted as rows in this project resemble the vine’s rows throughout the landscape.

A sculpture garden – café – outdoor library – gallery park with an interplay of walls of dierent heights and materials that divide the program but at the same time acting as book shelves in specic locations. The walls create a zigzag promenade such as Italian villas. Dierent geometries and increasing succession of bars become delineated by walls, trees, garden areas and sculpture benches which provide displays for local Italian artists. The park progression ends in a second oor gallery space which openness questions inside-outside spaces such as San Marcos gallery entrance in Italy.

Housing Cluster: Hacienda Villa TorrePunta Cana, Dominican Republic
For this project in Hacienda, the idea of housing density lead to the development of multi-family apartment blocks with a view to the golf course and to an interior garden, developed in the master plan, which extends the length of the whole site connecting both apartment clusters and 3 bedroom houses. Being a site that is not located in the beach front it raised the question of how could we incorporate that “ocean view” that people desire in a vacation or by living ve minutes away from the beach. This translated into amenities or “towers” that would capture some specic views of Punta Cana, for example the golf course, the airport and the beach. A connecting garden or “park” would provide the promenade for these amenities which could dictate the identity for each apartment block. These amenities create a promenade for both the public and the people that live in such communities. The original shape of the building starts shifting closer to the road to bring people into the main lobby and closer to the main garden path to connect the amenity pieces both to the public and the private realm. The private circulation becomes a mimic of the outside path with its own gathering spaces. The apartment units are organized in a way that the bedrooms face the perimeter of the mass of the building, getting views of the golf course and the garden.

Restroom Facility as SculptureStorm King Art Center, New Windsor NY Restroom Facility as SculptureStorm King Art Center, New Windsor NY Restroom Facility as Sculpture
Storm King Sculpture’s spatial and material relationship to the vast eld provided give inspiration to this public bathroom facility. Located behind the main building of the park the bathroom consist of two main surfaces: a concrete wall that becomes a water feature for refreshing after visiting the park and a framing divide of the sculptures beyond the site, the wooden oor surfaces folds becoming the bathroom roof and ramp accessibility creating a promenade that extends onto the landscape and further disappears as single wooden planks embedded into the grass.
Community CenterIncisa, FlorenceCommunity CenterIncisa, FlorenceCommunity Center
The community center contains diverse programs that serve the community of Incisa, ranging from supermarket, classroom spaces and the main soccer eld of the town. The site’s boundaries are the town’s main road, the river and a highway. Overtaking both sides of the highway a promenade is established with a boardwalk that creates walking access from the main street to the other side of the highway. The boardwalk folds down – giving access to the river – and up under the highway to become the stands for the soccer stadium which prominence gives an Incisa prominence to travelers in the highway.
