If providing a superior weather barrier is a

priority, silicone coatings are your solution.

Silicones are solvent-free, highly flexible, provide

resistance to ponding water and have excellent

UV stability. Additionally, silicone coatings can

be applied to most substrates without the use of

a primer. With a high solids content, they often

require less material, saving time and labor.

Silicones are also used in high-moisture climates

due to their fast-drying characteristics.

The coatings landscape today is crowded,

with many options available, and each option

offering different strengths. Choosing the

correct coating type can save time, labor and

money throughout the life of the building. These

coatings can be used to maintain and extend

the life of an existing roofing system or be used

with spray polyurethane foam (SPF) to create a

complete roofing system.

Need to add life to your roof quickly while

transitioning to a reflective surface? Acrylic

coating is your solution. Acrylic provides excellent

resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation and is

inherently flexible to withstand a roof’s instability.

Being water based, Gaco Acrylic Coatings are

extremely easy to handle and apply. There is no

component mixing and cleaning is simple with just

soap and water. Acrylic excels in high heat, low

humidity environments with minimal rainfall and

where ponding water is not a concern.

Roof Coatings

If durability and impact resistance is of upmost

importance, urethane coatings are the solution

for you. Urethane is ideal for protection against

severe weather such as hail, moisture intrusion,

and roof traffic. They also offer high chemical

resistance. Available in two product types, aliphatic

and aromatic, these products are typically used

in combination to form a basecoat and topcoat

mixing the durability of an aromatic product with

the reflectivity performance of an aliphatic material.

Additionally, a urethane roof coating with an

aromatic base and an aliphatic top coat stays cleaner

and holds color better than other coating solutions.
