A Commitment to Outstanding Banking ‐ and Community ‐ Service

ot just a client, but a family member. That's how Premier

Bank sees the people who walk through its doors. The goal of the group of local business professionals who founded Premier Bank in 1995 was clear: To serve the banking needs of their North Florida neighbors. Overseen by President and CEO Matt Brown and a dedicated board of directors, today Premier Bank has grown to five branches in Tallahassee and one in Quincy. It reached $357.3 million in assets in 2010.

Premier Bank's dedication to its clients extends beyond banking services - and serving fresh-baked cookies on Fridays - to community involvement. Its Charity Bumper Sticker Program raises thousands of dollars annually for charitable organizations and places of worship. To participate, simply place a Premier Bank bumper sticker on your car. Each Friday morning a license plate number is randomly chosen and the winner is awarded $250, $500 or $1,000, which they evenly divide with the nonprofit organization of their

choice. Big Bend Habitat for Humanity receives a financial sponsorship and a commitment to provide volunteers for labor from Premier Bank. Employees collaborate with H.O.P.E. (House Opportunities and Personal Empowerment) Community, which encourages self-sufficiency and responsibility among the homeless in Tallahassee, by serving meals and spending time in fellowship. Premier Bank covers all costs for food and supplies. On a regular basis employees participate in a number of initiatives for United Way of the Big Bend. In addition, two large barbeque smokers are available for

loan to clients and non-profit groups.

To meet client needs, Premier Bank offers quick and courteous service, the highest level of convenience and cutting edge technology. One such piece of technology is supplied by TriNovus: BankerVMS, a central data repository for vendor information and associated business practices. It allows the bank to reduce costs, improve contract terms, increase the value yielded from each investor and reduce potential risks.

"When I assumed contract management at Premier Bank, the contracts were

delivered in a set of three-ring binders totaling almost 4 feet thick," recalls senior vice president and senior operations officer Randy Herndon. "Some contracts had expired. Some had renewed. Some had been canceled. Each time management requested a copy of a contract, I had to either send a hard copy or scan the contract and e-mail it. I was concerned about the original contracts either being destroyed or simply going missing if someone borrowed a binder. I needed an affordable solution for scanning and managing the contracts for Premier Bank."

Herndon's relationship with TriNovus founder and CEO David Brasfield dates back to 2005, when Herndon was chief operating officer of Citizens State Bank in Perry, Florida, and oversaw the conversion from an outdated, in-house computer system to Brasfield Technology's Birmingham Data Center using Kirchman Bankway core software. "I was familiar with the Brasfield name prior to that conversion. They had a great reputation and that was one of the reasons we selected Brasfield as our processor. The staff at the

Birmingham Data Center was excellent. They lived up to the Brasfield reputation. Their responsiveness to our needs was timely and they furnished correct answers. Given a new opportunity to do business with TriNovus, I was immediately attracted to the BankerVMS product because I was already familiar with many of their people. They had already earned my trust."

All Herndon's contracts are now scanned into BankerVMS. "I can easily access any contract at any time from any computer. Our information security officer, president or CFO can look at any of our contracts at their convenience. As a former auditor, I believe that examiners and auditors will like this system when they see it. Vendor management is a moving target and a maintenance type project. TriNovus' staff

has been very responsive to questions about the system and is receptive to suggestions for enhancements."

As for how BankerVMS has changed Premier Bank's operation, Herndon likens it to a popular cartoon. "Like Linus' blanket, I am no longer dependent on the old three-ring binder contract system. The BankerVMS system will send me an e-mail, as often as I wish, when contracts are about to expire or if I need to begin the renewal process. After I gave our controller a short demo on our new system, she stated, 'We should have had this years ago!'"
