Project GRAD Houston is at work in five high school feeder patterns (Davis, Sam Houston, Reagan, Wheatley, and Yates) of the Houston Independent School District.

GRAD works to create the expectation that all students can and will graduate both high school and college.

Project GRAD Houston

Project GRAD began in 1994 with the belief that every student, regardless of background, not only deserves to but should graduate from high school and have access to college.

Project GRAD Houston

Working with school and community leaders, the GRAD model was developed to build academic skills, improve student behavior, address family needs, and set children on the road to college.

Project GRAD HoustonProject GRAD students must attend two College

Institutes while in high school to receive their $4,000 Scholarship.

The College Institute experience provides approximately 5-15 additional days of instruction. For many students, our program offers the uniqueness of being their first college experience.

Morning and afternoon

sessions are offered on college campuses and generally taught by college professors.  A variety of programs are offered, some residential and some non-residential.  Students who attend the non-residential programs receive a stipend.
