B. SURE-TITE Newel Fasteners are one of the most secure methods of mounting newel posts to finished floors. It uses floor joists for support, needs additional framing and installs in as little as 10 minutes. (comes complete with instructions)

C. Newel post fastener plate provides quick and easy installa-tion. This heavy 3/16” steel plate can be used under carpet, over concrete or finished floors. (comes complete with instructions)

A. A simple method with open tread is to utilize our unique newel attaching hard-ware (comes complete with instructions). Attaching hardware can be used where newels are free standing or attached against stairs.

D. Newel posts can also be notched and secured to bottom riser or foot of half wall. Half newel posts or rosettes should be used against a wall.

D. Rail bolt fasteners are best used to fasten handrails flush to newel post. (comes complete with instructions)

NOTE: Rail-bolt wrench is avail-able for all above applications

C. Rail and post fasteners can be used to fasten handrails to newel posts and/or newel posts to stair risers (comes complete with instructions)

B. Attach handrail to newel post as shown. Similarly cut and install bot-tom rail where required.

A. It is best to cut railing to size and angle after newel posts have been installed. Simply place railing against base of newel post and mark angle of line for cutting.

Trim newel post to required height (as per local building code). Depending on the type of construction there are many ways in which newel posts may be attached.

Drill slightly oversize round holes into handrail (approximately 1 ¼” into wood)

Insert Metal Spindle into round hole and finish using pre-notched fillet.

Use clear silicone or epoxy to secure spindle into wood

A. Chamfer 4 Corners of Plastic Plug

B. Insert Plug into the end of the square metal Spindle.

C. Insert Double Ended Screw into the Plastic Plug. Driver available for easy installation of Double ended Screw .

D. For Straight Railing Applications, metal spindle can be screwed di-rectly into the Handrail and Secured onto the Stringer Plate by screwing up from the underside using a flat head screw .

For Stair Applications, cut the top of the Spindle to the angle of the handrail (34” or 42”) pre-drill the top of the metal Spindle on an angle into the handrail and finish with a matching finishing screw .
