Well, it’s time to update our wardrobes with new 2010 NTCC t-shirts. Last year there were several
people who didn‟t like black. So this year I thought I would offer a choice; Navy Blue with a yellow Camaro
or grey with a red Camaro. The prices are based on an order of 25 units ordered per color. The estimated
price is:
S – XL: $13.50 XXL: $15.50 XXXL: $17.50
This year I will collect the money up front prior to making the order. Order will be placed 4/16
Please send me an email confirmation with your order request and mail a check or money order to:
Mark Lohse 4900 Patterson Ln., Colleyville, TX. 76034 or call him at 817-899-6482
Had some folks make some of Little Road GTG this month, those in attendance were:
Huff, Gene Brennan, Kent Miller, Jerry Jackson, Robert Willis, Rudy Martinez, Jeff Genauldi, Chapman

The CCC rescheduled show had lots of NTC folks on hand: Terry Hicks, Jay Redmon, Don and Donald

Kent Miller, Erik Eichinger, John Bezold, Brad Bulkley, Chris and Todd Recker, others?

the fantastic show and their support of our club.
Swap Meet at La Grave Field in Ft. Worth was April 10 and 11th.
Last I heard, JimBob Gilbert and Huff were headed to Baytown for the NHRA races 4/10.
Frank Mansari's "HUFFER" makes Chevy High Performance Magazine, congrats Huff!!!
Be sure to check out the NTC web site events calendar for info on events for the coming months.
Terry Taylor will be checking to see who is interested in the North Texas Camaros logo watch. These are
available in women's and men's versions. So let him know how many you want and he will begin the
process. There may also be the possibility of getting some NTC hat pins for about $4 each if we get 100.
Need to see how much interest there is in this.

The spring cruise will be combined with the Centerville day trip, Meet in the Middle #3.
May 1 is Meet in the Middle #3. The NTC folks will meet up just south of I-20 on I-45
at exit #270 ( Belt Line Road / Wilmer exit ) at the Shell Station ( same location as last 2 years ). We will
meet at 8:30 am and depart at 9:00 am sharp. The rest area we have used the past two years on the way
south at mile marker #216 is closed, so be sure to make use of the Shell station. We will make a rest stop in
the same vicinity but on the north bound side of I-45 with some gyrations. We should arrive about 11:30 -
12:00 in Centerville at Woody's north bound store at Exit #164. It is on the northeast corner of Hwy 7 and I-
45. At Woody's, we will meet up with the folks from the Houston Camaro Club and make the short trip to
the Johnson Ranch, about a 15 minute trip. There will be several e-mails with complete directions. We will
need a head count for the caterer. As last year, NTC members will pay $10 per person for the catering at the
ranch. Bring chairs, fishing equipment and any cold drinks you want to bring ( ice tea will be provided with
the B-B-Q ). In years past, the return is up to the individuals, usually by 5pm most are on the road home.
Super Chevy is 5/22 at Ennis. Huff says there may be some caravanning out there, stay tuned.
The 2nd Roll to Emory event hosted by Alan Pound and Ronnie Mc Enturff and coordinated by Huff will
be 6/5 . The plan is to fry some fish. Bring whatever cold drinks you want and any side dishes and /or
desserts, etc. Should be a low stress, laid back event like we have seen in Emory in the past. We will meet
at Young Chevrolet in Dallas at 9:30 am and leave by 10:00 am, should be in beautiful downtown Emory before noon.
The annual NTC picnic will be June 12 at Lantanna. We have held it there a couple of times before and it
is a great location coordinated by David Caver. It will be 11:30am -1:30pm and has play area for the kids.
Bring the family, the club will buy the catered food, so just come hungry and drive that Camaro. Complete
directions/more info will be in e-mails to NTC folks soon.
Let's Go For a Spin in 2010

Bill’s Corner: New Member Spotlight: Kent Miller
First let me say again what a wonderful club ya`ll have. Went to the CCC show last night and had a great
time with everyone. Hear are some pictures of my `67 back in the day as you can see on them the date of
3/25/89, about 3 months before I sold it. OUCH!! take that one back.
But who knew then what we all know now, right!!
Got the car from my brother in 1981 who didn`t
want it anymore and gave it to me. As a 16 yr. old,
starting my love for the Camaro At the time it was
an ex-drag car, even had all the stickers all over it
and a wild `70`s paint scheme. Put a 350 in it and
became my high school car, drove it even with the
stickers still all over it. Working on it for the next several years finally rebuilding the motor, put in the 2nd design off-road cam, fully ported and polished
heads 4-sp. 4.56 posi. and everything else, man was that thing a blast to drive. High school buddy and
club member Robert Willis actually painted the car for me. My payment to him in trade for painting it, a
mint original `69 Rosewood steering wheel that he still has today on his Rally-Z `69. Remember this was
over 20yrs. ago. Gotta love it. Ha. After pouring every dime, hunting parts, wrecking yards, swap meets,
trades, whatever..finally finished it and sold it in 1989. Fast forward to some 20yrs. meet Jay Redmon at
church. After talking with him about his Camaro, at the time still purple, invited me to go with him to a
car show in his car..and meeting several N.T.C.C. members , needless to say got the flame going in me
again. Since then I`ve been going to several of N.T.C.C. outings and car shows. Let me say that ya`ll have
some of the nicest people and have such a wonderful time getting together. So even though I sold my
Camaro back in `89 and someday hope to have another one, thanks for letting people like me come out
and enjoy your fun and fellowship and including me as one of your own, makes your club one to be
modeled after. Like Bill Roy said, "Cars got us together, but the folks is what keeps the wheels `rollin".
Hope to make the Centerville outing with Jay in his car, can`t wait.... Once again thanks, Hope you can
use some of this, so the members will know they‟re doing a great job!!!!

years later for $600.
4. Lynn Olson- Duluth, MN bought the car around 1976 & kept it till around 1991.
Her brother Linus Olson was a mechanic & he did a lot of work on he car for her &
she tried to sell it back to Mark Stromberg for $7000. Mark had just bought a house
and decline the offer. This lady kept great records and this is how I found out who

pans, one piece trunk pan, inner & outer rockers, inner & outer wheel wheels, rear
quarters on both sides, new dash , doors, etc. THEN HE LOST HIS JOB! So he
couldn‟t pay the body shop so they waited for him to pay & eventually they got

How did you acquire the car?
In Nov & Dec of 2006 I had 2 operations back to back and during the recovery period I started looking thru
all my letters to my parents in 1967 thru 1969 when I was in the Navy. I came across a picture of a 1967
Camaro a girl had sent me of her car. I had always said some day I will own a 1967 Camaro. So in 2007 I
sold my 1960 El Camino I had for 13 years and started saving my money. I started looking on EBAY in
Dec 2008 and at the beginning of Feb 2009 I found this car listed by the body shop. I talked to Chris
Recker about it & he wanted pictures. The body shop sent tons of them & Chris said it looked like a good
buy. After doing a cost estimate of how much it would cost to finish the car I felt like I didn‟t have enough
money even thou Chris said it was a good buy. On the last day of the auction on ebay I had to look at where
the bidding was . It was at $5000 with a “buy it now “for $8500. I bid $5500 and some one came back at
$5800, I bid $6000 & they came back at $6300. I called Chris at Advantage Autoworks to talk about the
bidding. I told him I had a change of heart & wanted to get the car since he felt like it was a good buy. He
said I thought you didn‟t want it? I said I changed my mind. He said “Well then I will quit bidding on the
car-I have enough projects going” Since I was on my way out of town I did the “Buy it now‟. It took about
3-4 weeks to get it shipped since it had to be shipped in a closed transport because it was in boxes. It
arrived at Advantage Autoworks in March 2009 and Chris had his part finished in Aug 2009 and I had the
interior wiring finished and running in October 2009.
How long have you own the car?
Since Feb. 2009
What would you do differently with the car?
Powder coat the rear diff and put a posi unit it, which on the list for next month after the picnic.
Any company or service that deserves high praise for helping with your car?
Chris Recker – Advantage Autoworks
Metroplex Automotive Machine Shop
Firewheel Classics
Finally – My wife for all her support since she could care less about old cars and an old mans dream
car (again)
