• A globe is a model of Earth. The Earth is huge and is in space while a globe can be held in your hands.

• How did the COMPASS ROSE get its name?

• The original compass had 32 points on it. A perfect rose has 32 petals. So, the compass on a map was named a compass rose.

• What are the CARDINAL DIRECTIONS?

• North, South, East, West

• Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast
