Dick has been a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church since his baptism in 1931. He served his church dutifully in many capacities until ill health prevented his active involvement. Among his fondest memories of his beloved Piney Grove were the years he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board.
Cherishing his memory, are his wife, Ethel W alker Williams; one son, Richard Edward Williams, San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Joyce Williams Dejoie, Martinez, Ga. and Deborah Williams Bennett, Augusta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Zuri Maleika Williams, San Diego, Calif., Michael Joseph Gabriel Dejoie, Anthony Edward Dejoie, Racy Richard and Brittany Michelle Bennett, all of Augusta, Ga.; one daughter-in-law, Charlene Williams; one son-in-law, Gabriel Dejoie; a brother, George Burroughs Williams, Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Mildred Williams Hankerson, Augusta, Ga.; four brothers-in-law, four sisters- in-law, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The Day God Called You HomeGod looked around H is garden and
found an empty space Then, H e looked down upon the earth
and saw your tired face H e put H is arms around you and
lifted you to restG od’s garden must be beautiful for
H e only takes the best.H e knew that you were suffering,
H e knew that you were in pain H e knew you never would get well
upon this earth again.H e saw the roads were getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb H e closed your weary eyes and whispered, “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone;
For part o f us, went with you the day God called you home.
