A brief Teaching on the Guru Yoga in reliance upon the Seven Lines Vajra Verses,A Rainfall of Blessings

First, the p reliminaries, Refuge m eans:

For t he sake of r escuing each and every sentient bei ng from the great f ears o f cyclic existence i ngeneral and the three lower r ealms in particular, one should take refuge from this m oment u ntilEnlightenment i n the Guru who is not differentiated from the Great Victorious Urgyen, who is theunion of all the Buddhas of the ten directions an d past, present and future. R ecite thrice be aring thismeaning in mind.

    Aspiration means:

Among all the sent ient beings l imitless as t he v ast expanse of space, there i s no t even a si ngle o ne w hohad not been our parent s i n the p ast. These sent ient beings are curr ently bound within the si x real ms

of cyclic exi stence, experiencing u ninterruptible su fferings without any end in si ght. T herefore I mustattain the st ate o f the Great Urgyen (Buddhahood) and place al l sentient beings into the p eace o f thestate of perfect Enlightenment. Contemplate in this manner, and give rise to the thought forEnlightenment, recite t hrice beari ng the m eaning in mind.

And now, the m ain practice:

In the space i n front of oneself within a t ent c omposed of rainbow rays, on top of a l otus and moondisc cushion, the object of ou r vi sualisation Urgyen Vjaradhara s hould be clearly understood as n on-dual from our Root Guru. H is aspect is that of Urgyen Vajradhara The Lotus Born. T he body of TheLotus Born is white in colour with a t inge o f red, and the tinge o f red is also suff used w ith white. He

has on e face and two arm s. H is right hand in wrathful mudra is waving a ve pronged golden vajra, while h is left hand which i s resting in the mudra of equanimity holds a s kull cup mixed with wisdomnectar. I n the crook of his left hand a three p ronged Khatvanga staff rest tilted. He wears a go wn,Dharma robes and brocade cl oak. O n his head he wears the lotus crown of liberation through sight, the tip of that crown is ad orned with a halved ve prong vajra and a vulture feather. His facialexpression is ext remely joyful, smiling but also wrathful at t he sam e time. His feet i s i n the p layfulroyal posture. Around him are an oceanic host of t he Three Jewels and the Three Roots, immeasurable in numbers.

His bo dy should not been seen like solid statutes of metal or cl ay, or as an imperfect body composedof esh and blood, but rather should be visualized as an illusion like rainbow body. Althoughappearing, yet in reality without any self nature. W hile being extremely clear an d vivid, it is at thesame time beyond grasp, abi ding in self nat ure that i s like the illusive rays of rainbow. Thenegativities of one s body, speech and mind should not be merely confessed through mere wordsfrom ones mouth, but with deep conviction that w hatever happ iness or s uffering, goodness ornegativities t hat one exp eriences up to the at tainment of Enlightenment are al l known to ones Guru. From the bottom of on es h eart, sincerely supplicate with reverence an d prostrations. The hair ofones body st anding on end, and tears welling in ones eyes.

Next, manifest all things wondrous an d desirable to the ve senses of form, sound, smell taste an dtouch along with the o uter, inner an d secret offerings, all replete w ith the asp ect of Sam antabhadrasoffering clouds; these are p resented in offering. After t his, gather forth all virtues t hat on e hasaccumulated in the three t imes, present i t sincerely in front of The l otus Born and think that on e i sthereby accumulating merits. F ollowing this, recite: All negativities co mmitted through the three
