What are all the tasks to get PR

1. Write IELTS (you can start with second point as well)

2. Evaluate your certificates by concerned body in Australia

(called skills assessment)

3. Express your interest for PR to Australian Immigration

4. Get the state sponsorship from any one state in Australia

5. If you are invited by Australian government for PR, then

submit your application

6. Once case officer is assigned to your file, you will be notified

7. If your file is OK, Case officer will request for Medical and

police clearance certificates, then produce them

8. If everything is good you will get your PR

(Successes rate is very high 90+ %)

9. Not over; you need to visit Australia to validate your PR

• Higher taxes

• Cost of living (it depends on country you are currently in)

• But it won’t increase drastically in future since big country with least population

• Job opportunities are good for particular occupations only

• So conclusion is, if your occupation has demand in Australia, then you can plan for PR

Now coming to money • How much does it cost and when to pay

• IELTS: 320 S$

• Attestation charges: 100 S$ (~)

• Migration Skills Assessment (620+250) AUD=1000 SGD

• State sponsorship (200AUD) =235 SGD

• Application fee: 3521 AUD =4100 SGD

• So, for single applicant (5755+ others) = at least 6000 SGD

• You don’t need to have all the money in hand to start process, the major payment (4100 SGD) is at the time of application, which is at least 4 to 5 months after you started the process

• (If you want to include your spouse or kids, It will cost 1760 AUD per applicant if aged 18+ ,880 AUD for applicant less than or 18)

Detail Steps involved in Getting a PR

First step is, Are you eligible for PR?

• To check it out, you need to know how many points you will get

• Google it or follow the bellow suggested link for your score

• There are only few variables in your score

• If you get better IELTS score then, you can increase your points

• (Six in all 4 tests- no pints, 7 in all -10 points, 8 in all -20 points)

• If your spouse can get IELTS score (4.5 in all) your score will

increase by 5 points

• If you got state sponsorship then you will get 5 points more

• If you got sixty (60) points, then you are eligible for PR

Second step is getting your education

qualifications approved by the concerned body

• For Engineers it is Engineers Australia

• For computer science graduates, it is ACS

• Others please follow the above link

• In fact, it is the toughest part in the whole

process. (Discussed in the last slides, don’t want

to confuse you now)

Expression of Interest (EOI)for the PR

• Third Step is expression of interest for the PR

• Follow the below link to express your interest

https://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/

• (Record the unique EOI identification

number, when you are doing it)

• Then with the EOI identification number you

can apply for state sponsorship

State sponsorship

• Is it necessary to have sponsorship?

• Yes, even though you have enough points, go for it

• If you are sponsored, then you don’t have to worry about available quota and PR processing is faster

• Find out, which state in Australia has more demand for your occupation and where you wanted to go, when you got your PR

• Apply to the same state

• It will take at least 2 weeks for processing but may be longer

Applying for PR

• Once you got your sponsorship letter, wait until

you receive the invitation for PR from immigration

• It will take 2 to 4 weeks (~) from the date of your

EOI

• Fill up the application forms, prepare any other

documents as necessary, like travel details

• Apply for the PR online, so it is the time you need

to make your application payment of (3521 AUD)

(you have to make payment online)

Then what's next

• Just relax, until a case officer is assigned to review your

application

• He will request if any required documents are missing

• Once he is satisfied, then he will issue reference letter

for medical test

• Proceed for medical tests and police clearance certificate

• Your medical results will be uploaded by the medical

centre automatically

• If there is no problem with the medicals and police

clearance

• Then you will get your PR (Visa Grant Notice)

• The last step is to visit Australia with in a year from your medical examination date.

Migration Skills Assessment

There are few steps

• Getting IELTS results, (you don’t have to score high for this, just 6 is enough for skills migration)

• Collecting transcripts from your university or notarizing photo copies of your certificates

• Preparing competency demonstration reports( it is not required if your Bachelor degree is from well known universities Like IITs, NTU and NUS

• Preparing “Continuing Professional Development” and CV

• Getting employment letters from your previous employers and current employer.

• Regular experience letters are not sufficient, it shall include your responsibilities, number of working hours, etc. )

• You need to produce these letters from your employers, for the years you are going to clime the points. Don’t worry manage it some how

• Once all the documents are ready , then apply for education evaluation

• Note: You don’t have to wait for your IELTS results

to apply for skills assessment,

• you can apply first and they will wait for your results

before giving you the assessment report.
