MANOLO Gypsy romanticism; for true (or wannabe) bohemians We all have these moments. We suddenly want to cut all strains, pack only the most essential and start living the gypsy way of life. For obvious reasons we hardly ever act on it. And we don't have to, because with the rose covered pillows, tea pots, bowls, tea cosies en oilcloth from the brand new KITSCH KITCHEN MANOLO-collection we can turn our own beloved home into a cosy gypsy wagon. A nice way indeed to experience the ultimate freedom the gypsies represent.

ARTESANÍA Pure folk art from Mexico The creativity and fantasy of the Mexicans are endless. Their specific use of colors, materials & forms reflects a perception of beauty that is completely different from ours and exactly that is what makes their handcrafts so appealing. Pintado a mano The Mexican state Oaxaca is famous for the enormous variety and high artistic value of its handcrafts. We fell for these colourful hand painted wooden products. Serving tray Folklorico, available in green, blue & pink

Los bordados de Tenango The pre-Hispanic Otomí live in the mountains of central Mexico. In the area of Tenango de Doria the Otomí women are masters in a very specific kind of embroidery. They create the most colorful and enchanting compositions of different kinds of animals. Pillow cover Bordado animales

Perfect as a wedding gift: Punto de Cruz This crisp white tablecloth with roses in a classical cross stitch is created for special occasions. Handmade in the Mexican state Michoacán. Con muchísimo cariño. Tablecloth Bordado Cruz

NOTA DE PRENSA PRESS RELEASE September, 2012 KITSCH KITCHEN AGENDA 2013 Mexico revisited For the ninth edition of the Kitsch Kitchen Agenda we decided to go back to our roots. Once again we wanted to show our love and appreciation for the country where the Kitsch Kitchen story started: Mexico. Sense of beauty In Mexico we met Rodrigo Vázquez, a passionate artist with an extremely sensitive eye for the unique beauty of his country. Vázquez: 'Mexico is a poor country, a complicated country, but the people that live here are very rich in their souls. They are honest, happy and free. Their interpretation of beauty is a reflection of that freedom.' We are very proud that we can show a selection of his work in our 2013 Agenda. Every page shows a different side of Mexico; through portraits, interiors, street scenes, celebrations and more. We are sure that this Agenda will inspire the owner all year long.

The 2013 Agenda has a hard cover and can be used with or without an oilcloth or lace cover

Rodrigo Vázquez Rodrigo Vázquez (1972) is autodidact. He started his career in 1988. In the late 90s he moved to New York and worked on big international advertising campaigns. After 4 years he had seen enough of the American way of life and decided to continue his career in Mexico. His numerous commercial assignments give him the freedom tot work on his own projects. One of them is remaking the architectural photographs of Guillermo Kahlo (the father of Frida Kahlo) took 100 years ago. Vázquez' purpose is to show how the city landscape has changed since then. Last year the results of this project wereshown in el Museo de la Ciudad de México. And mid-2012 the book 'Reporte Kahlo, Ciudad de México, Cien años de Patrimonio' has appeared.
