With witches, goblins, and ghosts with spooks galore, we've put a spell on you, so come in, take a seat, we invite you to eat, drink and be scary with the most positively spooky sounds of John Hubbs on All Hallows Eve at 2pm in the Auditorium. We can't forget to mention the Annual Pumpkin Carving contest, open up to all residents and associates. See Community Life to enter by Friday, October 27th. Path to Well-Being Hearing Loss and Dementia Aaron Shaw October 27th at 2:00pm Auditorium Older adults who experience hearing loss may be at increased risk of developing dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. And the risk of dementia likely increases as hearing loss worsens. The researchers say that interventions that could delay the onset of dementia by even one year could lead to a more than 10% decrease in its prevalence over the next 40 years. Join Aaron as he talks about these findings and what can be done now to prevent and assist those currently suffering. Thriving An employee that exemplifies our operating principles and goes above and beyond, even during times of disaster is a person that should be recognized. One of our wonderful members of Transportation, Rob Chisari, is one of those people. Recently during Hurricane Irma, Rob not only stepped up before to help get everyone situated safely, but during the evacuation Rob not only supported the residents during the evacuation, but his fellow associates. He did all he could possibly do, from manning hallways during the power outage, to assisted residents for care to bringing laughter and calm to all. The transportation team calls Rob “The Mayor” because he’s so friendly and helpful to residents, visitors and co-workers alike. And we have to agree with them on this one. Congratulations Rob on being employee of the month, and thank you!
