Sheffield CollegeHorticulture CourseCourse starts 21st April 2020

This is a practical craft course providing a good introduction to the horticultural industry and the development of basic horticultural skills. It will suit people who are practically-minded and like working outdoors in all seasons. Learners will need to be able to undertake a range of horticultural tasks including lifting and moving, ground preparation and planting.

Sheffield Cathedral is at the heart of the Diocese of Sheffield in the Church of England. The Cathedral is a grade 1 listed building and is visited by over 200,000 visitors per year. Our mission is to be a place for all people to share in faith, learning, heritage and hospitality.

Sheffield Cathedral is seeking to enhance our small staff team by appointing a part-time Caretaker and Events Facilitator. This post plays a key role in assisting the Dean’s Verger to ensure the smooth running and upkeep of the Cathedral, to co-ordinate the operation and maintenance of the Cathedral complex, and to be first point of contact for visitors.

In addition to the home fixtures, Bramall Lane will also be hosting various events, conferences and parties.

Kitchen Porters required to become part of a busy match day kitchen team at Sheffield United Football Club.

Experience is not essential but would be desirable, however the role requires excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Successful candidates will be based in the kitchen of one of our prestigious function suites and will be required to use the correct equipment to ensure that all cutlery crockery is cleaned to the required standard.

This is an excellent opportunity for some-one wishing to make a start in the catering industry or to earn some extra cash in their spare time.

The Sheffield Children’s Hospital are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to recruit to a Secretarial Assistant vacancy, 30 hours per week, within the Respiratory and Sleep Department in the Division of Medicine.

The successful applicant must possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. They will be flexible and conscientious with the ability to liaise with staff of all levels throughout the hospital and to the wider Trust, as well as parents/guardians and GPs dealing effectively and efficiently with telephone enquiries. Pharmacy Homecare Administration Assistant

NHS AfC: Band 3

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Pharmacy Homecare Team based at the Northern General Hospital.

You will be based within the pharmacy department and develop close working relationships with patients, service providers and others in the multi-disciplinary team. You will co-ordinate the ordering of supplies of medication delivered to patients under homecare service agreements. In addition you will be expected to work closely with finance and pharmacy procurement teams ensuring timely processing of invoices; provide data for invoicing of high cost medicines and liaise with clinicians to ensure homecare prescriptions are provided on a timely basis.

The successful candidate must be proficient in the use of a computer, have proven organisational skills and demonstrate an attention to detail in their work. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Candidates should ideally hold an NVQ qualification Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or be willing to work towards it. The successful candidate will start on a Band 2 if they do not have the NVQ qualification Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills and will progress to a Band 3 once this is completed.

Previous experience of homecare medicine is not necessary as enthusiasm for a new challenge and a willingness to learn are key.

As part of this role you will be required to provide cross site cover and you will have a regular weekly dispensary session and participate in weekend, late duty and bank holiday dispensary rotas.

Hours: Full time: 37.5 hours per week (with weekend and evening commitment on a rota basis, maximum 1 in 4 weekends)

Shifts on rota working: 7.00 am to 3.30 pm, 9.30 am to 6.00 pm and 10.00 am to 6.30 pm

An opportunity has arisen for a Stores Porter Driver within the Trust’s Catering Department based at the Northern General Hospital although you may be required to work across sites.  This an opportunity to work within an award winning team who actively strive to achieve the highest standards, being awarded Soil Association accreditation to Bronze level and the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance Standard.

Key aspects of this post will be to work both within the Central Food Production Unit and as a porter/driver on the hospital site and making deliveries off site and to other locations external to our hospital’s Trust.

Duties include:

1. Delivering meal trolleys and provisions around the hospital sites and across Sheffield.2. General and deep cleaning duties of the premises, vehicles and equipment, including the

use of heavy-duty electrical appliances.3. Moving equipment as required, collecting refuse and waste.4. Working in the Central Production Unit general bulk stores.5. Providing cover for colleagues within the Department as and when required.

All the above requires working to a high standard of hygiene.  Protective clothing is provided by the Trust, including thermal clothing when working in chilled areas. 

A full clean driving licence is essential for this post along with previous driving, portering and stores/distribution. A basic hygiene certificate is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given. Applicants will need to be educated to GCSE level at Grade 9 to 4 (or equivalent).
