Operations

Sod production begins in the fields with our four sod harvesters and five big roll cutters, capable of harvesting 60,000 square yards per day. Our sod fields consist of 1,000 acres in Central Florida which we cultivate and harvest bahia and bermuda varieties of sod.

Our sod is available in big rolls or pallets of 450 square feet. Big rolls of sod are 4 feet wide and provide a higher quality and more efficient installation. Big rolls provide a smoother surface and fewer edges are exposed and dry out since there are fewer seams than with slab sod.

Sod crews are capable of laying 60,000 square yards of sod per day. They are experienced in performing sod installation in a timely and efficient manner. Our custom six door flat beds are equipped to haul a forklift, crew and empty pallets from the job site, leaving a clean work site at the end of the day. When the project calls for hydroseeding or seed and mulch, our three-man crew is equipped to seed 10 acres per day.

Watering systems provide service 365 days a year. Our fleet of water trucks includes 6-wheel drive trucks that are equipped with 5,000 gallon tanks and self-loading diesel pumps. A remote controlled water cannon sprays out to 160 feet and six spray heads discharge water, assuring that every piece of sod gets wet.
