It is our proud privilege to announce the formation of the Assam Chapter of Society of Fetal Medicine. Fetal medicine is a vast rapidly expanding subject requiring lots of expertise and the multidisciplinary involvement of various practitioners starting from radiologists to gynecologists, geneticists, neonatologist, pediatric surgeons, pediatric surgeons, laboratory medicine , infertility, pediatric cardiologists and many more.

The society of fetal medicine (SFM) is a global forum of Indian origin that envisions offering every fetus an optimal outcome.SFM as a group of like-minded individuals has been striving to achieve this goal , by conducting regular scientific programmes and workshops, sharing experience ,knowledge and the latest technical guidelines so as to empower every fetal medicine practioner with the necessary skills and expertise to give optional care to every fetus and mother.

In keeping with SFM’s vision, The Assam Chapter will host it’s inaugural CME on 9th February 2020--a curtain raiser to many more academic programmes in the future .The daylong academic bonanza will take you through a gamut of talks by reknowned erudite faculty ,mainly focusing on fetal ultrasound in our daily practice from basics to beyond , fetal echocardiography the role of pre-invasive and invasive testing and screening, followed by a workshop and a panel discussion . We hope this initiative of SFM and it’s Assam Chapter is welcomed and supported by one and all and it goes a long way in making the practice of fetal medicine a strong presence not only in Assam but the entire northeast part of India.
