1. From your student files, open p09_Objectives. Save the presentation in your PowerPointChapter 9 folder as Lastname_Firstname_p09_Objectives.

2. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Header & Footer. In the Slides tab, select theFooter check box, and type the name of the file. 4. In the displayed Publish as PDF or XPS dialog box, navigate to your PowerPoint Chapter 9folder. Verify the selected options as shown in Figure 1.

5. Click the Options button. In the displayed Options dialog box, select Frame slides, andthen click OK. Click the Publish button. If a License Agreement dialog box displays, clickOK. Compare your screen with Figure 2.

After a few moments, the file opens in Adobe Reader, or another PDF viewer installedon your computer. Each slide is saved as an individual page.

6. Scroll down to navigate through all slides. Close Adobe Reader, to return toPowerPoint.

7. On the File tab, click Save & Send, and then under File Types, click Create PDF/XPSDocument. Click the Create PDF/XPS button, navigate to your PowerPoint Chapter 9folder, and then change the file name to Lastname_Firstname_p09_Objectives_Handout

8. Click the Options button. Under Publish options, click the Publish what arrow, and thenclick Handouts.

9. Click the Slides per page arrow, and then select 3. Select the Frame slides check box, andthen click OK. In the Publish as PDF or XPS dialog box, click Publish. When the file opensin Adobe Reader, compare your screen with Figure 3.

The file opens as a PDF. This handout can be distributed to anyone with PDF viewingsoftware, even those who do not have access to PowerPoint.

10. Close Adobe Reader, and then Close PowerPoint. When prompted to save changes, clickDon’t Save.

11. Submit both of the PDF files as directed.
