    • CAREER SEASON FOR ARCIA: SS Orlando Arcia had a league-best 48multi-hit games on the season and the Anaco, Venezuela native hit in 18 of thenal 20 games of the regular season since August 16. He ranked 6th in AA witha .366 AVG (30x82) over the span, 10 XBH and .402 OBP...Overall nished 5thin the SL in batting (.307), 2nd in hits (157), 1st in 2B (37), 3rd in XBH (52),2nd in TB (232), 5th in runs (74) and 5th in slugging (.453).

    • SERIES MOVES TO DECISIVE GAME FIVE AFTER SHUCKERS LOSS:• LHP Josh Hader tied a career-high in strikeouts with 10, only to have a no-decision in a potential clinching game at AT&T Field. The 21-year-old needed 111pitches to work through 5.1 innings, leaving the game with a 2-0 lead and runnerson 1st and 2nd.• Jacob Barnes allowed the inherited runners to score and surrendered two more runswhile recording just one out in the 6th, before being lifted with the Shuckers trailing, 4-2.• Biloxi suffered its 1st loss of the postseason when scoring 1st (4-1).

    • REED’S ON-BASE STREAK SNAPPED: The 22-year-old Texan failed toreach base safely for the 1st time since Aug. 26 after going 0x4 in Game 4.During that 18-game stretch, Reed batted .293 (17x58), and drew 14 walks.

    • SUPER SHAW: In 6 postseason games, Nick Shaw ranks 3rd in the leaguewith a .409 batting average (9x22), 3 2B, RBI and 4 runs scored.

    • ARCIA IN THE POSTSEASON: The 21-year-old has reached base safely inall 7 playoff games batting.444 (12x27) with 3 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 6 runs and.500/.963/1.463 slash line.

    • SHUCKERS SWEEP PENSACOLA IN DIVISION SERIES: The Shuckers tookdown their 1st round opponent, Pensacola with a 3-game sweep of the best-of-5 series.• STARTERS:  Over the 3 games, Jorge Lopez, Adrian Houser   and TylerWagner  held the Blue Wahoos to just 1 unearned run on 8 hits, 23 SO and7 walks over 21.2 innings. The Wahoos were 8-for-70, which is a .114 AVG.Overall the staff held the Blue Wahoos to a .124 AVG (11×89) over the series.• OFFENSE: The Shuckers outscored Pensacola 17-7 and outhit the Wahoos 33-11 in the sweep...batted .320 during the divisional round with 15 extra-base hits.

    • CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES HISTORY: The South Division has won 9 out ofthe last 10 Southern League Championships, including Jacksonville in a sweepover Chattanooga last year. The lone win for the North since 2005 was Birming-ham in 2013. This is Biloxi’s 1st appearance in the nals, with Huntsville appear -ing in 8 nals, winning championships in ‘85, ‘94 and ‘01 (co-champs). Chat -tanooga is making their 5th nals appearance with the only title coming in 1988.

    • SHUCKERS DOMINATE YEAR-END LEAGUE AWARDS:  The SouthernLeague announced that Biloxi starting pitcher RHP Jorge Lopez the league’s MostOutstanding Pitcher on Thursday as well as Carlos Subero, the league’s top manag-er...SS Orlando Arcia and Lopez were also named to the postseason SL All-Star team.

    2015 SEASON BY THE NUMBERS: The Shuckers opened the season on a54-game road trip and nished 33-21...are 28-18 in 1-run games (.609, T-1st inSL)...14-14 in shutout games...56-15 (.789, 2nd in SL) when scoring rst...10-5(.667, 1st in SL) in extra-innings...9-7 in doubleheader games...went 14-7 in April,16-12 in May, 16-8 in June, 13-15 in July, 16-14 in August and 3-3 in September.

Biloxi pitching led the league inERA (3.25), WHIP (1.26) and 2nd in SO (1,075).

    • DIVISION DOMINANCE: The Shuckers nished 50-35(.588) against South opponents and 28-24 (.538) against opponents from the North.

    WHO ARE THE SHUCKERS?: Formerly the Huntsville Stars, the new Biloxi professional baseball team re-vealed the new identity on November 24, 2014, as the Biloxi Shuckers took center stage during a ceremonyinside Biloxi’s historic Saenger Theatre. The team name was selected after nearly 60,000 votes were castafter the month-long “Name the Team” contest yielded six finalists. A tenacious oyster is the centerpiece ofthe identity, seen both in the club’s primary logo, home and alternate caps. The letters “BS” to make up theroad cap designation - the Biloxi Lighthouse logo, resiliently rising above historic storm waters. Gulf Blue,Sand, Coral, and Black make up the club’s new official colors, paying tribute to the Gulf Coast.     BILOXI BASEBALL HISTORY: Pro baseball is not totally new to the Gulf Coast, but it is the rst since 1908. TheGulfport-Biloxi Sand Crabs of the Cotton States League played half a season in Biloxi during the summer of 1908.Many Major League and som Minor League teams held spring traing in the area. Even the 1920 Milwaukee Brewersof the American Association (direct descendant of the current Brewers) trained in Gulfport. See below.
