– Achievement of 10% forest cover

Goal for 2012: increase current forest cover by 50%

Strategies;• Rehabilitation of degraded watersheds while promoting

on-farm forestry• Implementation of compensation for environmental

services to include carbon markets • Develop sustainable land use policy• Intensify conservation of coastal,mangrove, and marine

ecosystems

• Goals for 2012:– Substantially reduce losses due to floods and

droughts– Establish a system to monitor national trends and

impacts of climate change and desertification– Pilot programmes on climate change and

desertification– Increase agricultural production.
