90s kids

When you read the Title of this article, I'm sure many of you entered your emprising world of Nostalgia. A dream that many of us lived once. If you are a 1990s kid, then I'm sure you miss your childhood. And, that's fair enough. We were the last generation of kids who had an implausible childhood if you compare it with today's kids. The reason why I mentioned the word "GOLDEN" in the title is because we lived in an era in which we didn't have a lot of facilities that we enjoy today. But, we were very happy with whatever little we had. We knew how to enjoy the limited resources we had. Five years ago, I didn't even know what BLOGGING meant! And, here I am, living my passion. Time flies! Here is an attempt to take you through the memories that we commonly shared during our very Awesome Childhood! Remember? Neither we had LCD/LED televisions that we have today, nor we had a digital set top box connection. All we had was a big Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) TV and a cable connection driven by an Antenna fitted on the terrace.

We still enjoyed the shows that came during our days. Talking about shows, How many of your remember these old channels?

They certainly gave me nightmares. I was forced to watch serials like

Page 2: 90s kids

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi- A show in which today’s Minster of HRD Mrs. Irani starred as Tulsi, also in which the character “Baa” was immortal

Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki- The story of Om & Parvati Aggarwal which aired for 1661 episodes.

Kasauti Zindagi Ki- A show in which Ronit Roy was still Mr.Bajaj

As a kid I hated all these shows because my interests differed. But, today, when I listen to the intro songs of all these serials on YouTube… It just drives me crazy. It drags me back to my childhood in a flash.

When I watch some of today’s serials… They give me nightmares! I terribly miss those days! I am sure you all do as well!

It is not just about serials. We used to watch our favorite shows as well. Remember Shaktimaan?

Cartoon Network! The amount of entertainment the old CN gave was unmatchable! We all loved these shows… Isn’t it?

When we talk about TV, Another thing that strikes is the commercial advertisements those days. I am talking about days where Aamir Khan appeared in Coca-Cola ads, or Pepsi ads in which we could see the entire Indian Cricket Team, or Ads like Nirma (I am sure you still remember the tune), or my all-time favorite… The Fevi-Kwik Ad!

We lived in a world where Smartphones were limited to imagination. As kids, all we ever dreamt of… is the Nokia 6600

We all enjoy the distinct pride of being legends for making high scores in these games:

Apart from this, our major source of entertainment was:

Page 4: 90s kids

Who doesn’t remember these? Contra… One of the best games to be ever created (90s kids will agree) & Of Course Super Mario, another classic which made our childhood awesome!

The best part of being a 90s kid is… We were the last generation to play on streets. We played all sorts of games which indeed increased the Communal Harmony in the society!
