Assemble tools

• Prepare station for

service.



Section

• Comb hair down into

natural fall• Create a four section

parting.



Cut design in back

• Cut back perimeter

guide.



Cut design in front

• Connect ear to back.

• Establish front guideand connect to ear.



Interior guide

• Cut guide

approximately 4 ½” atapex (crown)

• (Note: make this cut

down the center partline)



Establish interior guide

• Continue cutting

guideline to fronthairline



Interior guide cont.

• Return to apex and

cut from crown tonape



Blend top to design line

• Stand behind the sectionand begin cutting at theside section nearest thehairline.

• (Note: if left handed

begin on the right and ifright handed begin onthe left)

• Use vertical parting andblend top guide to designline.



Continue layering

• (Note: remember

student must cutfrom top to bottomduring thisprocedure)

• Continue until cut iscompleted.

• (Note: insure thatstudent maintains aconstant 90 degree

elevation.)



Precaution

• Student must maintain a traveling

guide to maintain uniform layers.



Cross check

• Perform cross check

for accuracy.



Finishing the cut

• Check perimeter

guide and finish asnecessary.



Final check

• Check cut for

accuracy by cuttingfrom bottom to topbeginning on the

opposite side of thehead.



Final checking point

• Judges will look to

see that the finishedcut was uniformlyblended.



Blowdry

• Blowdry using no

tools other that yourfingers.

• Finished to match the

photo.



Completion

• Clean up

• Organize station

• Total points 200

• All points must be awarded or no points.• Steps must be done in order to receive
