• Specifies the occurrence of certain objects or features,
without a strict spatial arrangement
• Identification of a class implies that objects
of another class are likely to be found nearby
– Site
• Refers to topographic position
• E.g. sewage treatment facilities are
positioned at low topographic sites
near streams or rivers
