1.1. Kwa-Zulu Natal Young Achievers Awards 2019

The KZN Young Achievers Awards ceremony platform is a powerful platform for acknowledging

youth in the KZN province, for networking, relationship building and the development of a healthy

minded, educational and economic sense of togetherness, and proudly social cohesive Kwa-Zulu

Natal. The KZN Young Achievers Awards is a “network of ideas and brand new initiatives”

The project aims to promote youth transformation in fostering awareness and pride of our multi-

cultural diversity. We will unite all races across district communities, to acknowledge, honor and

appreciate young men and women who are ambassadors for change in the communities. Who also

are champions for youth development in their own hometowns, who also help us come up with

sustainable initiatives for Local Youth and Economic Development.

Umvithi -Rural Youth Development Foundation - SA, through its initiatives has designed the KZN

Young Achieves Awards to bring about Youth Economic development at local rural and

disadvantaged communities. We have implemented a detailed Strategic plan that will set as a

guideline for interested participants, and will ensure that the event is of high standard and quality.

We will set a mood of awards ceremony, high profile attendance, and cultural celebration and

festivity to take us through the night of celebration.

Since the year 2011 Umvithi Rural Youth Development Foundation - SA hosted young achievers

from all over the province, to witnessed the event of glitter and glamour as VIP guests and leaders

who get invited to join hit the red carpet in the event. For the past years Umvithi the Rural Youth

Development Foundation volunteer committee, founders and stakeholders/sponsors presented

successful ceremonies, staged to recognise young people in our province Kwa-Zulu Natal, who go

an extra mile to make a difference in the province. The event grew into a concept that sees KZN

Youth from all over the province getting acknowledged for their selfless efforts in making a

difference in their communities, and changing lives.

Every year after a call is made, we receive nominations from local, district municipalities and

province at large, youth organizations, NGO’s and CBO’s and via different forms of media, all

nominations undergo a selection process conducted by our professional technical team. The KZN

YAA 2018, was the best event ever in the history of our Awards, this is another way we take off

our hats and honor our youth, to inspire and motivate them to continue with their good work.

Various stake holders from the government, private sector and well-known personalities are

invited to attend the awards, and our special guests receive are set to recieve honorary awards for

their work that continuously inspires our youth to do better.

The main focus for the awards is;

The KZN born youth, who works tirelessly to make a difference in their communities, We use the

platform to acknowledge them for their work towards a sustainable development of youth

programs, and serving as catalysts for change, instilling the entrepreneurial spirit amongst other

youth.
