Human NatureThroughout the history of the world, themajority of people have believed in God.There seems to be something built in thehuman that makes us want to believe.

Over the last decade some really startlingfacts have been found that show thatchildren have an innate belief in God. Dr.Justin arrett, a senior researcher at the!niversity of O"ford #entre for $nthropologyand %ind, states&

'The preponderance of scientific evidencefor the past () years or so has shown that alot more seems to be built into the naturaldevelopment of children*s minds than weonce thought, including a predisposition tosee the natural world as designed andpurposeful and that some kind of intelligentbeing is behind that purpose+

-e adds that 'f we threw a handful /ofchildren0 on an island and they raisedthemselves... they would believe in God. Toput it simply, his answer as to why anyonewould believe in God is that, our minds aredesigned to do so.

Disbelief in God is something which isunnatural to the human being. O"ford!niversity development psychologist Dr.Olivera 1etrovich, who is an e"pert in the

1sychology of 2eligion states that, belief inGod develops naturally and that 33atheism isdefinitely an ac4uired position**.

5o where did this natural belief in a creatorcome from6 7e can*t say it is taught bysociety as this belief is innate, and studiesshow that it is independent of societalpressures and is cross cultural. The beste"planation for this belief is that God hasput this into humanity.

    Conclusion

8ou have just read three independentreasons why it makes sense to believe inGod. elief in God is not only rational but itis also part of human nature.

There are many 4uestions raised by thee"istence of God, such as why is there eviland suffering in the world6 Doesn*tevolution disprove God6 Do we have apurpose in life6 9or answers to your4uestions, please visitwww.knowthetruth.in

    GOD:"ist6

IntroductionOrder in the Universe7hen we reflect upon the nature of ourworld, we see order everywhere from thewater cycle to the movement of the eartharound the sun.

#ommenting on the order found in theuniverse, the physicist 5tephen -awkinge"plains that& 'The overwhelmingimpression *is one of order, the more we

discover about the universe, the more wefind that it is governed by rational laws.

This observation is shared by the vastmajority of scientists. 5ince the universe hasorder and is governed by the 3laws ofscience*, we should 4uestion how this ordercame about. The most effective way toanswer this 4uestion is to reason to the bestconclusion.

Take your mobile phone for e"ample, yourphone is made of glass, plastic and metal.Glass comes from sand, plastic comes fromoil, and metal is e"tracted from the ground.magine you were walking in a desert;where there is lots of oil, sand and metalsin the ground)th centurysome physicists held the view that the universehad always e"isted. f the universe had alwayse"isted it wouldn*t need a creator. -owever,according to #osmology, the universe had abeginning some (? billion years ago with acosmic event commonly known as the 3igang*.

magine you heard a loud bang, and you asked3where did that sound come from6* 7ould you besatisfied with the answer that it came from3nothing* and it 3just happened6* Of course not.8ou would say 3what was the cause of that loudbang6* n the same way, rationally the 3ig ang*must also have a cause that bought it about.=ow we can ask since the 3ig ang* has acause, what was the cause of that cause6 Thenwe can ask, what was the cause of that cause6$nd so on and so on. ut this can*t go on foreverand must end with a first cause, because of thefollowing e"ample&

magine a sniper who has just found his targetand calls back to base to get permission toshoot. The person at the base tells the sniper tohold on while they seek permission fromsomeone else higher up. 5o the guy higher upseeks permission from the guy even higher upand so on and so on. f this goes on forever, willthe sniper ever get to shoot the target6

The obvious answer is that he wouldn*t be ableto shoot. The only way the sniper can shoot is if

someone gives permission without asking foranyone else*s permission. That person would bethe first cause of the sniper shooting. n thesame way, the ig ang must have a first cause.

7e can conclude that this first cause must bepowerful as it bought the whole universe intoe"istence, and it must be intelligent as it causedthe 3laws of science* which govern the universe.$lso, this first cause must be timeless, spacelessand immaterial, because time, space and matterbegan at the 3ig ang*. 9inally, since it isuncaused it must have always e"isted.
