Who is the course for?

The course has been designed for people committed to improving care for those with mental disorders and promoting their human rights, particularly in settings where mental health resources are scarce. Prior expertise in a clinical specialty related to mental health is not essential. Since its inception, the course has hosted over 230 participants from around the world, including Nepal, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Germany, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Peru, China, Zambia and Kenya. Participants have included mental health practitioners, researchers, policy makers, persons affected by mental health problems and advocates.

Ø Indian residents: INR15,000

Ø Residents of other low-income countries: US$800

Ø Residents of middle-income countries: US$1000

The course equips participants with methods to develop and scale up interventions for people with mental disorders in low-resource settings. It also helps enhance leadership skills needed to scale up mental health care programmes and promote human rights of people affected by mental disorders.
