The aims of this field trip is to reinforce what students have been learning in Science class and lead them to develop real world connections. All school rules and regulations will apply, students must remain with the chaperones. The safety of your student and their personal belongings is a top priority for Kaohsiung American School and the chaperones. Dear 8th Grade Parents,

I know our students are looking forward to this field trip and I am excited about this learning experience as well. Please note that I will have my iPhone with me at all times and will receive email correspondence while on the trip. My email address is cchoquette@kas.kh.edu.tw.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime with any questions or concerns.

Students were sent home with a suggested packing list for them to look over. I would encourage you to take a look at it with your youth(s) and assist them with their packing. In regards to food and technology items being brought on the trip, students may not bring computers. Students are permitted to bring food and small technology items like cameras, iPads, iPods and the like but please be aware that there is a possibility that these items may be damaged, lost or stolen. Kaohsiung American School and the chaperones would feel terrible about this but we cannot be held responsible for such unfortunate occurrences.

Students will need to bring some money along for meals and snacks. We will be stopping at McDonalds on the way into Kenting. Students will need money for their snacks at the aquarium and for our late lunch early dinner before heading home. I would think that 1,000NT$ would be sufficient.

When we are making our way back to Kaohsiung American School on Saturday I will have students make a phone call when we are about 30 minutes from the school. Please be on-time and waiting to pick up your youth.
