FLOOR IT? DO WE PUT THE PEDAL TO THE METAL?2020 presented some unforeseen challenges, but it also gave us a tremendous opportunityto slow down, pause, and truly appreciate the most important things in life. Hebrews 13:8reminds us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever! He got us through 2020 andHe will walk with us in 2021. Let us not be in such a hurry to put 2020behind us that we forget the things we learned. Take a moment andreflect before moving forward. Look for the blessings in each day.They are there and are waiting to be discovered!

We are going to do something unique this year called “First Fruits.” On Sunday,January 3, as a church we are going to give away all of offering! That’s right, on thefirst Sunday of the year, all of our offering will be given away! I know…this soundscrazy!! (Please note: this will not include Community Center or Faith Promise funds)Many will say this is crazy; we are already doing so much for others, thecommunity, the Community Center, and so on. I agree and I am proud of you all forthat commitment. I just can't get away from taking that first fruit of 2021 and givingit away as an example to others, to families, to kids, etc. All funds collected on thatSunday including tithe will be given away that Friday. We are going to spread thelove of Christ in a visible way! You may say you do not want your tithe to go to beused like that. That is completely understandable. Go ahead and give your tithe forJanuary any other Sunday of the month. Mail it in or give online. If you are one ofour amazing online participants, then you can give online on that Sunday and usethe First Fruits designation. On Friday, January 8, we will have two times where wewill meet at the church and go out. We will meet at noon and at 6 pm. We willdivide in groups with gift cards and we are going to go and bless those that haveserved in stores like Dollar General through the pandemic. We are going to alsobless The Salvation Army as they work so closely with us. Details about this aregoing to be coming at you soon. On that Friday the 8th you will wear your AFC gearand we will become the hands and feet and infiltrate Madison County in a way wehave never done before. It is going to be epic!! I also believe it is going to showChrist our willingness to be sacrificial.
