BREAK-IN PERIOD _With Bombardier-Rotax snowmobileengines, a break-in period is requiredbefore running the vehicle at full throttle. Engine's manufacturer recommendation is 10 to 15 operating hours. During this period, maximum t h r o t ~ l eshould not exceed 3/4, however, brieffull acceleration and speed variationscontribute to a good break-in. Continued wide open throttle accelerations, prolonged cruising speeds, and luggingare detrimental during the break-inperiod._ CAUTION: Remove and clean. " . spark plugs after engine break-in.O NOTE: A new drive belt requiresa break-in period of 15-25 km (1015 miles).

10-Hour InspectionAs with any precision piece of mechanical equipment, we suggest that after thefirst 10 hours of operation or 30 davs after the purchase, whichever comes first, your vehicle be checked by your dealer. This inspection will give you the opportunity to discuss the unanswered q u ~ s -tions you may have encountered dUringthe first hours of operation. Rememberthat it is easier to remedyat this time thanto allow the snowmobile to operate untila possible failure occurs.

The 10 hours inspection is at the expense of the vehicle owner.

    LUBRICATION _

FrequencyRoutine maintenance is necessary for allmechanized products, and the snow-mobile is no exception. A weekly vehi-cle inspection contributes to the lifespan of the snowmobile as well as re-tains safe and dependable operation. Itis recommended that the steering sys-tem and suspension be lubricatedmonthly or every 40 hours of operation. If the vehicle is operated in wet snowor in severe conditions these itemsshould be lubricated more frequently . WARNING: Only perform suchprocedures as detailed in thismanual. It is recommended that dealerassistance be periodically obtained on

other components/systems not cov-ered in this manual. Unless otherwisespecified, engine should be turned OFFfor all lubrication and maintenance pro-cedures.Steering Mechanism WARNING: Do not lubricatethrot-tie and/or brake cables and hous-ings.Lubricate the ski legsand spring couplerbolts at grease fittings until new greaseappears at joints.Coat spring slider cushion with grease.Oil ball joints and steering columnbushings.

New Drive BeltWhen installing a new drive belt, breakin period of 25 km (15 milesl is strongly recommended.O NOTE: Always store a spare beltin a manner to allow its naturalshape to be maintained.Brake ConditionThe brake mechanism on your snowmobile is an essential safety device.Keep this mechanism in proper workingcondition. Above all, do not operateyour snowmobile without an effectivebrake system. WARNING: Brake pads less than3 mm (118") thick must be replaced. Replacement must be performedby an authorized dealer.

Brake AdjustmentThe brake mechanism is a self-adjustingtype. If a quicker brake response is desired, strongly pull the brake lever several times, this will actuate the self adjusting mechanism.
