For complete selection of packers available for a specific casing OD and weight, be sure to check all weight ranges listed. Includes some Drill Pipe and Line Pipe weights. For specifications on those packers and their accessories that are not shown in this Specification Guide, refer to units filed under this same index. The ID through the upset in Internal Upset Casing may be smaller than the minimum ID listed, but in all cases will be sufficiently larger than the Packer OD. The maximum OD (including tolerances) of any part run through a Baker Retainer Production Packer should be at least 1/16" smaller than the minimum bore through the Packer Body. This may occasionally require that the coupling ODs be turned down to the dimensions shown in the column headed Integral Joint or Coupling - Special Clearance OD in the Tubing Dimensional Data Chart shown in the current Baker Catalog. Refer to this chart for other pertinent tubing data. Minimum lower bore of all DA Packers can also be used as sealing bore. Tubing Seal Assemblies, Tubing Seal and Spacer Nipples, and Flow Tubes. The Flapper Valve should be removed from the Model DA Packers when the intended installation does not require tubing to extend through and below the packer. The Flapper Valve on the Model D Packers need not be removed as it is held open while running in by the Seal Assembly. Size 20-19 should be used if OD of locator head is not critical. Size 40-19 has smaller OD head. Refer to dimensional data on accessories in other units filed under this same index. Size 40-26 should be used if OD of locator head is not critical. Size 80-26 has smaller OD head. Refer to dimensional data on accessories in other units filed under this same index.

AssemblyRefer to Drawing No. 132-608.(Steps 1 through 10 are performed at warehouse.

12-96Steps 11 through 19 are performed at rig.) 1. Screw Release Stud into Mandrel to shoulder,

being sure to take at least 12 full turns. 2. Screw Stud Bushing onto Release Stud shoul-

der, again being sure to take at least 12 fullturns.

3. Slide Mandrel into top of Body so that StudBushing contacts Body. Tighten Set ReleaseSleeve and install Split Screw into slot of StudBushing. NOTE: Assembly of the four smaller size Adapter Kits differs from that shown in Steps 2 & 3. For these sizes, insert the Stud Bushing into the top of the Body; then slide the Tension Mandrel into the lower end of the Body and screw the two parts together

4. Slide Split Ring Retainer over top ReleaseSleeve and install Split Ring.

5. Slide Release Sleeve over bottom of Mandrel. 6. Slide Split Ring Retainer up as far as possible

on Release Sleeve. Make up Split Ring Retain-er on Body, wrench tight.

7. Screw Mandrel Guide onto Mandrel until it con-tacts Release Sleeve, being sure pin in Body ispositioned in notch in top of Release Sleeve.

8. Slide Gage Ring over threads on ReleaseSleeve. Tighten Mandrel Guide with wrench un-til threads on Release Sleeve are tight againstGage Ring. Back off on Mandrel Guide just farenough to slip Gage Ring off threads.

9. Screw Lock Bushing onto Mandrel until it con-tacts Mandrel Guide. Tighten Set Screw.

10.Makeup Stinger Bushing on Stinger (if re-quired) only if Model D or DA Packer con-tains Flapper Valve. Position Bushing overcorrect groove (Adapter Kit sizes stampedabove each of three grooves). Tighten SetScrew. D, DA, DAB And DBRetainer Production Packers

11.Slide Adapter Sleeve Bushing (not used in Siz-es DA-25, 24-19, 30-19, and 30-25) onto Pres-sure Setting Assembly. Screw Adjusting Nutonto Pressure Setting Assembly, to shoulder.Tighten Set Screw in Adjusting Nut.

12.Screw Adjusting Bushing to Pressure SettingAssembly to shoulder. Tighten Set Screw. (Notused in Sizes 22-19 and 22DA-25.)

13.Screw Body (left-hand thread) onto AdjustingBushing to shoulder. Tighten Set Screw. Sizes22-19 and 22DA-25: Screw Body onto MandrelAdapter and tighten Set Screw.

14.Size 40-19 through 190-32, screw AdapterSleeve onto and beyond Adjusting Nut. Sizes20DA-25, 20-19 and 20-25, screw AdapterSleeve onto Adjusting Nut to shoulder.

15.Screw Stringer onto Lock Bushing, wrenchtight. See step 10 above. Slide Gage Ring overthreads of Release Sleeve for final check.Grease left-hand threads of Release Sleeve.

16.Remove Bolt, Safety Washer and Nut from Set-ting Sleeve of Packer. Then screw Packer ontoRelease Sleeve, hand tight.

17.Unscrew Adapter Sleeve until it moves downand firmly shoulders on Setting Sleeve of Pack-er. Continue unscrewing by hand until gap be-tween Cylinder Head and Cross Link Sleeve ofPressure Setting Assembly closes. Do not usewrench or make up tight enough to shear upperSlips of Packer.

Sizes 40-19 through 190-32: 18.Remove Set Screws and slide Adapter Sleeve

Bushing down and around until holes in Adapt-er Sleeve line up with holes in Adapter SleeveBushing. Install and tighten Set Screw. Sizes24DA-25 and 24-19: Tighten Set Screw to lockAdjusting Nut and Adapter Sleeve threads.

19.Proceed with operating and partial disassemblyinstructions as shown in Unit on Wire Line Pres-sure Setting Assembly.
