Here are two new Deb Tucker Workshops. We will have two easy and quick projects for you, both focusing on learning more about Deb’s wonderful tools while creating a very nice project for yourself or for a great gift. As always, our classes emphasize ―no stress‖ quilting. All workshops will be taught by Jackie DeVall, certified Deb Tucker instructor. Deb Tucker tools and patterns can be ordered through Kingdom. Orders must be placed two weeks prior to class.

APRIL WORKSHOP

In this workshop, you will learn how to use Deb’s Wing Clipper tool to make

perfect Flying Geese—the easy way! If you are new to Deb’s tools, this

class is PERFECT for you; if you are experienced, this is a great way to

master the technique. Called ―MEANDERING GEESE‖, this Table Runner and

Placemat set will be fun and easy. You’ll make two sizes of Flying Geese units and

then put them together for a great addition to your dining space.

Tools needed: Wing Clipper 1. Pattern is included with the class fee.

JUNE WORKSHOP

In June’s workshop, we will make another table runner (lots of you have requested

more of these…). This one is called the ―SURPRISE RUNNER‖ because the block

was such a surprise! It looks very complicated, but it isn’t.

Tools needed: Tucker Trimmer 1, Wing Clipper 1 and Square Squared (the small

one, not the new large one). Pattern will be included with the class fee.

Our Embroidery Club—generously sponsored by King-dom sewing, is a group of machine embroidery enthu-siasts that meet on the second Monday of the month, 6:00 p.m., in the Simi store. Led by Melody and Jackie, the goal is to get people to actually use their ma-chines! Our projects are simple ones; we charge a nominal fee—usually $3– to cover our supplies. You will usually do the embroidery at home and then com-plete the project in class. If you are interested in join-ing the fun, send an email to Melody at Her-mance@pacbell.net. The American Sewing Guild (ASG) meets each month at Kingdom in our Simi Valley store on the 2nd Thursday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. ASG is a national non-profit organization dedicated to people who believe sewing is a rewarding and creative activity, promoting sewing in local communities through encouragement, education and support, with social events such as fashion shows, sewing fairs and sewing related service projects. Cameo Club

ADVANCED CLASS

In April, we will do a really cute card project using Sketch

Pens. If you haven’t tried this technique, you will be

amazed at how easy it is to create your own artwork in the

Cameo. In June, we plan to dive into the new Silhouette

4.0 software. If the software hasn’t been released by the

class date (although it should be), we will move another

topic into the June class.

BASIC CLASS

In May, our Basic class will feature using

sticky (adhesive backed) vinyl. You will learn

how to cut vinyl properly and then use pre-cut

pieces to decorate an insulated plastic cup.

Theme for the cup is ―sewing‖ so it will be fun

for you or for a sewing friend.

Bag Ladies Club

Thelma leads us in this episode of the Bag Ladies, for Bali Bags. You’ll create

quilted fabric with crazy quilt type decorative stitching and make your choice of one

of these fun and versatile purses. This pattern is made for batik Bali Pops or you

may opt for a jelly roll of any fabrics you like. As with our previous project, our first

meeting will be a discussion only prep class, with the second class being the

sewing class. There will again be some sewing to be done at home between the

two classes. Pattern included.
