What is TSA?

TSA assesses the general competence of students at the end of key stages of learning

For students at P.3, P.6 and S.3To provide the Government and school management

with information on school standards in key learning areas for the purposes of school improvement

To assess students’ performances at the Basic Competency level so that teachers could make good use of the assessment data to improve the learning and teaching effectiveness

Scope of TSA

Speaking, Chinese Audio-Visual (CAV), Listening, Reading and Writing

Mathematics Curriculum Development

TEACHING OF MATHEMATICS:School-based Curriculum Development

Support Services for Primary School

P.3 and P.4 Maths teachers and the Senior School Development Officer (Mr. Teddy Lee) from the Education Bureau will have regular meetings every two weeks to work together to investigate effective teaching strategies to enhance the learning and teaching of Mathematics in P.3 and P.4 levels.

Teachers will bring the pupils’ work and discuss why they make the mistakes and try to think of ways to help the pupils.

Senior School Development Officer will try to find useful teaching materials such as Powerpoints, websites, songs, etc. and think of the possible ways to help making the learning more effective.

Senior School Development Officer also come to our school to observe teachers’ lessons so that he could give suggestions and possible solutions to facilitate the teaching of Mathematics.

• Encourage students to take notes using a Maths classwork book for self-learning.

• Guide students to form a habit of preparing lessons by reading the summary of the chapters.

• Enhance students’ competencies in solving application problems.

To encourage students to facilitate learning by using I.T. skills.

~ To help P.2 students recite Multiplication table in Cantonese

• Encourage students to use the e- learning materials, such as school web, Modern Mathematics web and NLVM to facilitate the learning of Mathematics.
