  • Welcome

  • Welcome to the 7th annual St. Michael’s MRI Symposium!

The St. Michael’s MRI Symposium will be held again for the 7th time on Saturday, February 6th, 2021. Since 2014, this CME event has focused on important current topics in Body MRI to provide valuable education to practicing radiologists, MRI technologists and radiology trainees, including residents and fellows. This event has a history of being made available by live webcast each year since its inception in 2014. Thus, the transition this winter to a virtual only live webcast due to the global pandemic situation will be a natural fit and seamless. This academic year’s symposium will again feature an outstanding international lineup of faculty speakers, with a theme this time of providing new updates and expert tips in several important areas of Pelvic MRI.

    Event Objectives

At the end of this CPD event, participants will be able to:

    1. Describe and apply current standards in performance and reporting of MRI for rectal cancer to both the baseline staging and post chemoradiation therapy restaging clinical settings.

    2. Describe and use methods to apply modern technical, terminology and reporting standards released for prostate MRI with an emphasis on PIRADS 2.1 reporting.

    3. Describe and review the clinical role of MRI, the technical protocol standards, and the important content and lexicon in reporting of endometrial, cervical, and ovarian cancer.

    4. Identify and explain the added value of MRI to treatment of common benign gynecologic disease focusing on endometriosis and uterine fibroids through examining radiological features and imaging anatomy in these diseases.

    5. Describe and apply methods to perform MRI of the pelvic floor.

Thank you for joining us virtually. Anish Kirpalani, MD, FRCPC, FSAR
