If you are not satisfied withany maintenance or repair workdone by the dealership, follow thesethree steps:Step 1 - Talk over your concernswith the dealership's management,such as the Service Manager orGeneral Manager. Step 2 - We recognize that, on someoccasions, a customer will not betotally satisfied with a dealer'sdecision or actions in Step 1. If thisis the case, you should call or writeto the Acura Client Services Office.The address and telephone number

are on the inside front cover. Pleaseprovide the following information:• Year, model, and Vehicle

Identification Number of yourvehicle, and its current mileage.

• The name of the dealer who soldyou the vehicle.

• The name of the dealer whoservices your vehicle.

• Date, mileage, and reason foreach visit to an Acura dealership.

• Any non-Acura dealership repairservice for the problem(s).

• Your daytime and eveningtelephone numbers.

The staff of the Acura ClientServices Office is interested inworking with

you and the dealership to find asatisfactory solution.

Step 3 - If you disagree with thedecision reached by the staff ofAcura Client Services Office, youmay request to have your casereviewed in an independent forumrun by the Council of BetterBusiness Bureaus (BBB). BBB AUTO LINE's purpose is toresolve disputes between vehiclemanufacturers and their customers.BBB AUTO LINE's decision makersare impartial third parties who willlisten to both the customer and themanufacturer and decide what canbe done to resolve the disagreement.

The BBB AUTO LINE's decision isnot binding on you unless you agreeto accept it. If you accept thedecision, Acura will abide by it.Generally, disputes submitted toBBB AUTO LINE are resolvedwithin 40 days (47 days if you havenot first contacted Acura about yourcomplaint).

Acura offers you the opportunity tomediate and arbitrate a disagreementthrough BBB AUTO LINE because

we want you to feel that you havebeen treated fairly.

Eligibility is limited by yourvehicle's age, mileage, and otherfactors. In order to file a claim, youneed to provide your name andaddress, the Vehicle IdentificationNumber of your vehicle, and a briefstatement outlining thedisagreement. Initially, BBB may tryto resolve the disagreement throughmediation. If this is not successful,your complaint will be reviewed byan impartial, volunteer arbitrator.You may present the facts of yourcase to the arbitrator at an informalmeeting.

We encourage you to use thisprogram before, or instead of, going

to court. It is informal, free of chargeto you, and generally resolvesproblems much faster than the courtsystem. Lawyers are usually notinvolved in the resolution of claimsthrough the BBB, although you mayobtain one at your own expense ifyou choose.

If you want to go to court, we do notrequire you to first file a claim withBBB AUTO LINE. Please note thatlaws in some states may require thatyou file a claim with BBB AUTOLINE before you can proceed to astate-operated dispute resolutionprocess or the court system. If youdo not accept the decision of BBBAUTO LINE, you can still go tocourt.

Lemon LawsMany states have enacted what arecommonly referred to as “LemonLaws.” Although the details of theselaws vary from state to state, theirmain purpose is to assure you certainrights if you have problems withyour new vehicle. In general terms,these laws usually say that if yourvehicle has a problem that cannot berepaired in several attempts, or has aseries of problems that keep it out ofservice for an extended period, youmay qualify for relief under thelemon law in your state.

Some states require you to notify themanufacturer about the problem(s),and some states give themanufacturer, or its representative, a chance to correct the problem(s). A state may require you to submityour complaint to a disputeresolution program, such as BBBAUTO LINE, before proceeding toother forums.

Lemon Laws have many provisions.If you feel your new Acura qualifiesfor consideration under the lemonlaw in your area, we suggest youcheck the laws in your state.

We want you to be satisfied withyour Acura automobile. If you haveany questions, please contact yourAcura dealer or Acura ClientServices Office.

Acura may cover, on a case-by-casebasis, some or all of the cost torepair a problem that is not coveredby your vehicle's limited warranties.

If your vehicle develops a problemyou feel should be repaired by Acuraat no cost, discuss it with yourdealer.

If you are not satisfied with yourAcura dealer's decision, call or writeto the Acura Client Services Office(the address and telephone numberare on the inside front cover). Pleaseprovide this information about yourvehicle: year, model, VehicleIdentification Number (VIN),mileage, maintenance history, adetailed explanation of the problem,and why you think Acura should beresponsible for the repair. Yourrequest will be investigated, and youwill be informed of Acura's decision.

The warranty coverages in thisbooklet are offered only to the owner of a 2005 Acura automobile.To be covered, the vehicle must bedistributed by American Hondathrough the Acura AutomobileDivision, and sold by an Acuraautomobile dealer in the UnitedStates, Puerto Rico, or the U.S.Virgin Islands.Parts replaced under any of thewarranties in this booklet becomethe property of Acura. Acura willmake the final decision whether torepair any existing part or assemblyor replace it.Acura may use factory-remanufactured parts rather thannew parts for some warranty repairs.Those parts, like new parts, arecovered for the remainder of theNew Vehicle Limited Warranty (seepage 13).

The warranties in this booklet do notcover:• The failure of any part or

accessory due to:- Abuse, misuse, accidental

damage, or acts of God.- Improper installation or

maintenance.- A low fluid level or the use of

a fluid other than specified byHonda.

- The installation of any part thatis not equal to the original inquality of materials orworkmanship.

- Use of the vehicle incompetition or racing events.

• Any installed part or accessorythat fails because it was notdesigned to fit that year and modelof Acura.

• Any vehicle with an odometer thathas been altered so it is impossibleto determine the actual mileage.

• Any vehicle while it is registeredor normally driven outside theUnited States, Puerto Rico, or theU.S. Virgin Islands.

• Any failure caused by modifyingthe vehicle, or installingaccessories not authorized byAcura.

• Any incidental expenses orinconvenience you may suffer dueto the loss of use of your vehicle.

• Any vehicle that has ever beendeclared a total loss or sold forsalvage by a financial institutionor insurer, or that has been issueda “salvage” or similar title underany state's law. This exclusiondoes not apply to the EmissionsWarranties, the Seat Belt LimitedWarranty, the Replacement PartsLimited Warranty, or any recallsor other campaigns.

General Warranty Provisions

12 Your Warranties in Detail


Time and Mileage PeriodThis warranty begins on the date thevehicle is put into use in one of thefollowing ways:• The vehicle is delivered to the

first purchaser by an Acura dealer.• The vehicle is leased.• The vehicle is used as a

demonstrator or company vehicle.Your vehicle is covered for 4 yearsor 50,000 miles, whichever comesfirst.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace any partthat is defective in material orworkmanship under normal use. See

repairs/replacements made under thiswarranty are free of charge. Thereplaced or repaired parts arecovered only until this New VehicleWarranty expires.

This New Vehicle LimitedWarranty Does Not Cover:• Emissions control systems,

Accessories, Battery, or Tires.(They have their own warranties.)

• Normal wear or deterioration ofany part.

• Cleaning and polishing.• The adding of any fluids, unless

they are needed as part of awarranty repair.

• Air conditioner refrigerant chargeafter the first year, unless requiredas part of a warranty repair.

• Broken, chipped, or scratchedwindow glass unless it is due to adefect in material orworkmanship.

• Any item concerning yourvehicle's general appearance thatis not due to a defect in materialor workmanship. Cosmetic flawsor minor damage to the body,paint, or other items may occurduring manufacture or shipping ofyour vehicle. These are usuallyfound and corrected beforedelivery. If you find anyuncorrected flaws or damage onyour new vehicle, notify thedealer as soon as possible afterdelivery.

• The replacement of expendablemaintenance items (such as sparkplugs, filters, wiper blades, orbrake pads/linings) unless they aredefective in material orworkmanship.

• Wheel balancing and wheelalignment after 1 year or 12,000miles, unless required as part of awarranty repair.

Your Warranty Rights andObligationsThe Federal Emissions-relatedDefects and Emissions Performancewarranties are in addition to theAcura New Vehicle LimitedWarranty. These warranties are givenonly to the owner of a 2005 Acuradistributed by American Hondathrough the Acura AutomobileDivision, and sold by an authorizedHonda dealer in the fifty UnitedStates, the District of Columbia, theCommonwealth of Puerto Rico, theVirgin Islands, Guam, AmericanSamoa, and the Commonwealth ofthe Northern Mariana Islands.

Acura will not deny a claim foremissions warranty coverage simplybecause you did not maintain thevehicle, or do not have maintenancerecords to show that you did.

Federal Emissions Warranties



To qualify for coverage by theDefects and Performance warranties,you should operate and maintainyour 2005 Acura according to the

warranty booklet, and theMaintenance Schedule in theOwner's Manual. This schedule isdesigned to keep your vehicle'semissions control systemsfunctioning properly by maintainingyour vehicle in peak operatingcondition.

However, any part that fails becauseof abuse or lack of maintenance willnot be covered by this warranty.Acura recommends that only partssupplied by Acura or equivalentparts be used to repair your vehicle.Maintenance, replacement, orrepair of emissions control devicesand systems may be done by anyautomotive repair establishmentor individual.Under normal circumstances, Acurawill pay for warranty repairs onlywhen they are performed at anauthorized Acura repair facility.However, in an emergency situation,the repair of emissions controldevices or systems may be done byany automotive repair establishmentor individual, or by the owner, usingany replacement part.

An emergency situation isconsidered to exist if an authorizedAcura repair facility or warrantedpart is not reasonably available tocorrect a problem.Acura will reimburse you for thoseemergency repairs that are coveredby the Emissions Warranties. Partsreimbursement is at themanufacturer's suggested retail price,and labor reimbursement is at ageographically-appropriate hourlylabor rate for Acura's recommendedtime allowance. For reimbursement,present the replaced parts and a copyof the paid receipt to any authorizedAcura automobile dealer.

The use of replacement parts notequivalent to the original parts mayimpair the effectiveness of yourvehicle's emissions control systems.If a non-equivalent replacement partis used in the maintenance or repairof your vehicle, and if an authorizedAcura automobile dealer determinesit is defective or causes a failure of awarranted part, your claim for repairto bring your vehicle intocompliance with applicablestandards may be denied. If the partin question is not related to thereason your vehicle fails to meet thestandards, your claim will not bedenied.




These Warranties Do Not Cover:• Failures or malfunctions of the

emissions control systems causedby abuse, alteration, accident,misuse, or the use of leadedgasoline.

• Replacement of maintenanceitems such as, but not limited to,spark plugs, filters, hoses, belts,coolant or lubricants beyond theirfirst required maintenance point.

• Consequential damages such asloss of time or use of the vehicle.

Design and Defects WarrantyCoverageAcura warrants that your automobile:1. is designed, built and equipped to

conform at the time of sale withall applicable emissions standards.

and2. is free from defects in materials

and workmanship that wouldcause it to fail to conform withapplicable emissions requirementsduring the specified time andmileage period.

Refer to the emissions parts list inthe back of this booklet for moreinformation on warranty durationand the emissions systems that arecovered.

To Get Emissions Warranty ServiceRepairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis.An authorized Acura dealer isrequired, within 30 days of the timeyou take your vehicle to the dealerfor emissions warranty service, toeither honor your claim foradjustment, repair, or replacement,or notify you in writing that yourclaim is being denied, and explainwhy.



Emissions-related Design and Defects Warranty


If this time limit is not met, anauthorized Acura dealer will performthe required repairs free of charge.The only exceptions allowed arewhen you, the owner, request oragree to a delay, or the delay iscaused by circumstances beyond thecontrol of Acura or the dealer.

If an authorized Acura automobiledealer is not able to repair yourvehicle within 30 days from the timeyou take it to the dealer, you mayhave your vehicle repaired at anyrepair facility you choose. The onlyexceptions allowed are when you,the owner, request or agree to adelay, or the delay is caused bycircumstances beyond the control ofAcura or the dealer.

If you choose a repair facility that isnot an authorized Acura dealer,Acura will reimburse you for therepair. Parts reimbursement is at themanufacturer's suggested retail price,and labor reimbursement is at ageographically-appropriate hourlyrate for Acura's recommended timeallowance. For reimbursement,present the replaced part(s) and acopy of the paid receipt to anyauthorized Acura automobile dealer.



Emissions-related Design and Defects Warranty


This warranty begins on the date thevehicle is delivered to the firstpurchaser other than an authorizedAcura dealer, or the date it is firstused as a demonstrator, lease orcompany vehicle, whichever comesfirst.

Performance WarrantyCoverageAcura warrants that, if your vehiclefails an EPA-approved emissionsshort test, Acura will, at no cost toyou during the warranty coverageperiod, make all adjustments,diagnosis, repairs and replacementsnecessary to bring your vehicle intocompliance with applicableemissions standards.

Refer to the emissions parts list inthe back of this booklet forinformation on warranty duration foremissions parts that receive extendedcoverage.

To Get Emissions PerformanceWarranty ServiceIf your vehicle fails an EPA-approved short test, it shouldbe taken to an authorized Acuraautomobile dealer. Take along proofof the purchase date and a copy ofthe test report.NOTE: The emissions test should beperformed with the vehicle at normaloperating temperature. Beforegetting a test, drive the vehicle forseveral miles at 25 mph or aboveand test the vehicle as soon aspossible after driving.

Repairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis.An authorized Acura dealer isrequired, within 30 days of the timeyou take your vehicle to the dealerfor emissions warranty service, toeither honor your claim foradjustment, repair, or replacement,or notify you in writing that yourclaim is being denied, and explainwhy.



Emissions Performance Warranty

Acura must warrant theemission control system on yourvehicle for the periods of time listedbelow provided there has been noabuse, neglect or impropermaintenance of your vehicle.Your emission control system mayinclude parts such as the carburetoror fuel injection system, the ignitionsystem, catalytic converter, andengine computer. Also included maybe hoses, belts, connectors and otheremissions-related assemblies.Where a warrantable conditionexists, Acura will repair your vehicleat no cost to you, includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.

For 7 years or 70,000 miles (orlonger on certain models: See theemissions parts list and coveragesheet for your vehicle model.)whichever first occurs: If an emissions-related part in thesupplied list that is specially notedwith coverage for 7 years or 70,000miles is defective, the part will berepaired or replaced by Acura. Owner's WarrantyResponsibilitiesAs the vehicle owner, you areresponsible for the performance ofthe required maintenance listed in

your owner's manual. Acurarecommends that you retain allreceipts covering maintenance onyour vehicle, but Acura cannot denywarranty solely for the lack ofreceipts or for your failure to ensurethe performance of all scheduledmaintenance.You are responsible for presentingyour vehicle to an Acura dealer assoon as a problem exists. designed to keep your vehicle'semissions control systemsfunctioning properly by maintainingyour vehicle in peak operatingcondition.Acura will not deny a claim foremissions warranty coverage simplybecause you did not maintain thevehicle, or do not have maintenancerecords to show that you did.However, any part that fails becauseof abuse or lack of requiredmaintenance will not be covered bythis warranty.Acura recommends that only partssupplied by Acura or equivalentparts be used to repair your vehicle.Maintenance, replacement, orrepair of emissions control devicesand systems may be done by anyautomotive repair establishmentor individual.

Under normal circumstances, Acurawill pay for warranty repairs onlywhen they are performed at anauthorized Acura repair facility.However, in an emergency situation,the repair of emissions controldevices or systems may be done byany automotive repair establishmentor individual, or by the owner, usingany replacement part.An emergency situation isconsidered to exist if an authorizedAcura repair facility is notreasonably available, or when awarranted part is not availablewithin 30 days, or when anauthorized Acura repair facility isunable to complete a repair within30 days.Acura will reimburse you for thoseemergency repairs, includingdiagnosis, covered by the Emissions




Warranties. Parts reimbursement isat the manufacturer's suggested retailprice, and labor reimbursement is ata geographically-appropriate hourlylabor rate for Acura's recommendedtime allowance. For reimbursement,present the replaced parts and a copyof the paid receipt to any authorizedAcura dealer.

The use of replacement parts notequivalent to the original parts mayimpair the effectiveness of yourvehicle's emissions control systems.If a non-equivalent replacement partis used in the maintenance or repairof your vehicle, and if an authorizedAcura automobile dealer determinesit is defective or causes damage to awarranted part, your claim for repairto bring your vehicle intocompliance with applicablestandards may be denied. If the partin question is not related to thereason your vehicle fails to meet thestandards, your claim will not bedenied.

These Warranties Do NotCover:• Failures or malfunctions of the

emissions control systems causedby abuse, alteration, accident,misuse, or the use of leadedgasoline.

• Replacement of maintenanceitems such as, but not limited to:spark plugs, filters, hoses, belts,coolant or lubricants beyond theirfirst scheduled maintenance.

• Consequential damages such asloss of time or use of the vehicle.




Defects Warranty CoverageAcura warrants to the owner of any2005 California model that theautomobile:1. is designed, built and equipped to

conform at the time of sale withall applicable emissions standards

and2. is free from defects in materials

and workmanship which wouldcause it to fail to conform withapplicable requirements during thespecified time and mileageperiods.

To Get EmissionsWarranty ServiceRepairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis. Anyauthorized Acura automobile dealerwill perform the adjustment, repair,or replacement within 30 days fromthe time you take your vehicle to thedealer.If an authorized Acura automobiledealer is unable to repair yourvehicle within 30 days from the timeyou take your vehicle to the dealer,then this situation will be treated asan emergency and you may haveyour vehicle repaired at any repairfacility you choose.

If you choose a repair facility that isnot an authorized Acura dealer,Acura will reimburse you for therepair, including diagnosis. Emissions Control Systems Defects Warranty


This warranty begins on the date thevehicle is delivered to the firstpurchaser other than an authorizedAcura dealer, or the date it is firstused as a demonstrator, lease orcompany vehicle, whichever comesfirst.

Performance WarrantyCoverageAcura warrants to the owner of any2005 model year Acura that if yourvehicle fails a Smog Check test (oran EPA-approved short test) Acurawill, at no cost to you during thewarranty coverage period, make alladjustments, diagnosis, repairs andreplacements necessary to makeyour vehicle pass the test.

Refer to the emissions parts list inthe back of this booklet forinformation on the warranty durationand the emissions system that arecovered.

To Get EmissionsWarranty ServiceIf your vehicle fails a Smog Checktest (or an EPA-approved short test),it should be taken to an authorizedAcura automobile dealer. Take alonga copy of the Smog Check testreport.NOTE: The emissions test should beperformed with the vehicle at normaloperating temperature. Beforegetting a test, drive the vehicle forseveral miles at 25 mph or aboveand test the vehicle as soon aspossible after driving.

Repairs covered by this warrantywill be performed at no charge forparts, labor, and diagnosis.An authorized Acura dealer isrequired, within 30 days of the timeyou take your vehicle to the dealerfor emissions warranty service, toeither honor or deny your claim foradjustment, repair, or replacement,or notify you in writing that yourclaim is being denied, and explainwhy.If this time limit is not met, anauthorized Acura dealer will performthe required repairs free of charge.The only exceptions allowed arewhen you, the owner, request oragree to a delay, or the delay iscaused by circumstances beyond thecontrol of Acura or the dealer.



Emissions Performance Warranty


If an authorized Acura automobiledealer is not able to repair yourvehicle within 30 days from the timeyou take it to the dealer, you mayhave your vehicle repaired at anyrepair facility you choose. The onlyexceptions allowed are when you,the owner, request or agree to adelay, or the delay is caused bycircumstances beyond the control ofHonda or the dealer.

If you choose a repair facility that isnot an authorized Acura dealer,Acura will reimburse you for therepair, including diagnosis. Seat Belt Limited Warranty

While seat belts cannot completelyremove the possibility of injury, theydo provide a very significant level ofprotection when used properly.Acura believes the best way toenhance your safety is to use yourseat belt. To encourage their use, theseat belts should always be in goodoperating condition.

Time PeriodThis warranty continues for theuseful life of the vehicle.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace, at itsoption, any Acura seat beltcomponent that fails to functionproperly during normal use. Thisincludes all parts and labor charges.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Replacement of a properly-

functioning seat belt assemblystrictly for cosmetic or comfortreasons.

• Failure caused by abuse,alteration, accidental damage,misuse, or malfunction resultingfrom a collision.




Rust Perforation Limited Warranty

Only the vehicle’s owner can make aclaim under this warranty. Coveragecannot be transferred to any otherperson or institution (such as aninsurance company).

Time and Mileage PeriodThis warranty’s coverage begins onthe same date as the New VehicleLimited Warranty (see page 13), andcontinues for 5 years with nomileage limit. Any body panelsrepaired or replaced under thiswarranty are covered only for thetime remaining in the original 5 years of coverage.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace anyoriginal body panel that rustscompletely through from the insideout (perforated by corrosion). Thisincludes panels previously repairedor replaced under this warranty.

Rust that does not perforate, but iscaused by a defect in material orworkmanship, is covered under theNew Vehicle Limited Warranty. Youwill not be charged for any parts,material, or labor under thiswarranty. The decision to repair,rather than replace, any rusted bodypanel will be made by Acura.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Surface rust on the underbody or

any other part of the vehicleexcept body panels.

• Rusting of body panels that wererepaired, replaced, or refinishedafter retail sale of the vehicle,unless those panels were repairedor replaced under this warranty.

• Body panel rust caused by abuse,misuse, or lack of maintenance.

• Rusting where the paint has beendamaged by road hazards such asstones and debris.

• Rust caused by immersion of thebody panel in water, mud, or sand;or resulting from exposure tocorrosive gas or industrial fallout.

• Paint matching. (Acura reservesthe right to decide how much ofthe repaired or replaced panel, andany adjoining body panels, needto be repainted to match theoriginal finish. Acura will not,under any circumstances,authorize painting the entirevehicle strictly for the purpose ofpaint matching.)


Accessory Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to anyaccessory distributed by AmericanHonda and purchased from an Acuraautomobile dealer in the UnitedStates, Puerto Rico, or the U.S.Virgin Islands.

Time and Mileage PeriodAccessories Installed Prior toRetail Sale: This warranty begins onthe same date as the New VehicleLimited Warranty (see page 13). Allaccessories are covered for thelength of the New Vehicle LimitedWarranty: 4 years or 50,000 miles,whichever comes first.

Accessories Installed by the DealerAfter Retail Sale: This warrantybegins on the date the accessory isinstalled on the vehicle. Allaccessories are covered for thelonger of the following two periods:1) the time remaining in the New

Vehicle Limited Warranty,or

2) 1 year or 12,000 miles, whichevercomes first.

Accessories Not Installed by aAcura Dealer: This warranty beginson the date the accessory ispurchased from an Acura dealer. Allaccessories are covered for 1 year.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace anyAcura accessory that is defective inmaterial or workmanship undernormal use. Acura will decide if anaccessory will be repaired ratherthan replaced. If the accessory wasinstalled by a Acura dealer, all partsand labor costs are covered. If theaccessory was installed by someoneelse, the cost of all parts to repair orreplace it are covered by Acura, butyou must pay the labor costs.




Accessory Limited Warranty

Audio System ComponentExchange ProgramIf the audio system in your Acuradevelops a problem during thiswarranty period, telephone theService Department at your Acuradealer. The service person will askyou several questions about yourvehicle and the problem. If hedecides from this conversation thatthe problem is in one of the system'smajor components (radio, CDplayer), he will immediately order areplacement component. This willtake less than a week. You will thenbe notified to bring your vehicle tothe dealership so the audio systemcan be repaired. Telephoning yourdealer about an audio systemproblem allows him to serve youmore efficiently and can save you anextra trip.

Acura may use factory-remanufactured audio componentsrather than new components forsome warranty repairs. Thosecomponents, like new components,are covered for the remainder of theAccessory Limited Warranty.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Air conditioner refrigerant charge

after the first year, unless requiredas part of a warranty repair.

• Any accessory installed on aHonda other than the year ormodel it was designed to fit.

• Any accessory that is improperlyinstalled.

• Any claim presented withoutproof of accessory purchaseand/or installation date andvehicle mileage at time ofinstallation.

• The cost of labor to repair orreplace any accessory that was notoriginally installed by an Acuradealer.


Replacement Parts Limited Warranty

This warranty applies only toautomobile replacement partsdistributed by American Hondathrough the Acura AutomobileDivision, and sold through an Acuraautomobile dealer in the UnitedStates, Puerto Rico, or the U.S.Virgin Islands.

Time and Mileage PeriodParts installed by an Acura dealerare covered for 1 year or 12,000miles, whichever comes first.Warranted parts purchased from aAcura dealer but installed bysomeone else are covered for 1 yearfrom the date of purchase.

Remanufactured PartsRemanufactured parts installed by anAcura dealer are covered for 3 yearsor 36,000 miles, whichever comesfirst. Some examples ofremanufactured parts are: alternators,

starters, brake calipers, powersteering racks and pumps, ABSmodulators, automatic transmissions,and driveshafts. Check with yourdealer to determine if aremanufactured part was used torepair your vehicle.Remanufactured parts purchasedfrom an Acura dealer but installedby someone else are covered for 3years from the date of purchase.

Warranty CoverageAcura will repair or replace any partcovered by this warranty that isdefective in material orworkmanship under normal use. Ifthe part was originally installed by an Acura dealer, the repair orreplacement will be done with nocharge for parts or labor. If the partwas originally installed by someoneelse, the cost of the replacement or

repair is covered by Acura, but youmust pay all installation costs.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Claims which do not include

documented proof of purchasedate, installation date, and vehiclemileage at the time of installation.

• Parts considered to be normalmaintenance items, unless they aredefective in material orworkmanship. Some examplesare: spark plugs, filters, and brakepads.

• Parts replaced under the NewVehicle Limited Warranty or partscovered by other warranties in thismanual.




Replacement Battery Limited Warranty

This warranty applies only toreplacement batteries purchasedfrom an Acura automobile dealer inthe United States, Puerto Rico, or theU.S. Virgin Islands.

Time and Mileage PeriodReplacement batteries are coveredby a 5 year limited warranty.

Warranty CoverageDuring the first 2 years of service, adefective replacement battery will bereplaced at no cost for the newbattery, labor, or installation.For the remaining 3 years, you willreceive a credit toward the purchaseof a new battery. Replacement Muffler Lifetime Limited Warranty

Time and Mileage PeriodThe Acura automobile replacementmuffler is warranted against defectsin material and workmanship for aslong as that muffler's purchaserowns the vehicle on which it isinstalled.If the warranted muffler fails due toa defect, Acura will exchange it. Youmust have proof of purchase for thefailed muffler. If the muffler wasoriginally installed by an Acuradealer, the cost of labor for removaland replacement is also covered bythis warranty.

This Warranty Does Not Cover:• Labor cost for removal and

replacement if the defectivemuffler was not originallyinstalled by an Acura dealer.

• Other parts of the exhaust system,including pipes, gaskets, hangers,clamps, or other mountinghardware.

• The original equipment muffler, or any muffler installed while theNew Vehicle Limited Warranty isin effect.

Proper OperationYour Acura is designed for use as apassenger vehicle. You should use itto transport people and their luggageon regular roads and highways.Several things you should do to takecare of your Acura are:

• Avoid exceeding your vehicle'sload limit. This puts excess strainon the engine, brakes, and severalother systems in your vehicle.Refer to the Owner's Manual tofind the location of the LoadLimit label on your vehicle.

• Operate your Acura on reasonableroads within the legal speed limit.

• Drive your Acura regularly over adistance of several miles. Like aperson, a vehicle functions betterwith regular exercise.

• Always use an unleaded gasolineof the proper Octane Number(Anti-Knock Index). See yourOwner's Manual for moreinformation.

MaintenanceYou should check the engine oil andradiator coolant levels each time youfill the gas tank. This protects thevital systems of your Acura, andmay help you discover potentialproblems.

Always maintain your 2005 Acuraaccording to the MaintenanceSchedule in your Owner's Manual.The time and mileage intervals givenin this Schedule for inspections andreplacements should never beexceeded. They are essential totrouble-free operation. Parts thatfail because they did not getproper, timely maintenance arenot covered by warranty. However,if a part fails due to a defect inmaterial or workmanship, thewarranty claim will not be deniedbecause of improper maintenance, oroperation.

The people at your Acura dealer arefully trained and equipped toefficiently perform scheduledmaintenance on your 2005 Acura.However, service at the dealer is notmandatory for continued warrantycoverage. You can have scheduledmaintenance done somewhere otherthan your Acura dealer, or you cando the maintenance yourself.

If you regularly take your vehicle tothe Acura dealer for scheduledmaintenance, the dealershippersonnel will know its history ifyou need to make a warranty claim.If someone else has been performingthe maintenance, the dealer may askfor evidence that you have properlymaintained the vehicle. Thisevidence may consist of one or moreof the following:

• A Maintenance Record (such asthe one in the Owner's Manual)showing the odometer mileageand date for each service. Eachentry in this Record should besigned by a person who isqualified to service automobiles.

• Copies of repair orders or otherreceipts that include the odometermileage and date that the vehiclewas serviced. Each receipt shouldbe signed by a qualifiedautomotive service technician.

• A statement that you completedthe maintenance yourself, showingthe odometer mileage and dateyou did the work. Receipts for thereplacement parts (fluids, filters,etc.) should accompany thisstatement.

NOTE: As a convenience for thenext owner, keep all maintenancereceipts with the vehicle if it is sold.

You should take your vehicle, alongwith proof of the purchase date, toan Acura automobile dealer duringhis normal service hours. If yourwarranty claim is for a replacementpart or accessory that was originallyinstalled by an Acura dealer, takealong proof of the vehicle's mileageat the time of installation.

If your vehicle cannot be driven,contact the Acura automobile dealernearest to you for towing assistance.You do not have to pay for towingto the nearest Acura dealer if thefailure is covered by any of thewarranties in this book.

Emergency RepairsAcura recognizes that your vehiclecould develop a serious problemneeding immediate repair at afacility other than an Acura dealer.

Acura will reimburse you for therepair if:

• The repair would normally becovered by one of the warrantiesin this booklet.

and• All Honda dealers within 50 miles

of the break-down were closed atthe time, or there were no Acuradealers within 50 miles.

and• The vehicle was immobile, or

attempting to drive the vehiclewould cause further damage or beunsafe.

For reimbursement, go to any Acuraautomobile dealer. You must show acopy of the paid receipt, and thereplaced part(s). The dealer willreimburse you for the parts at thecurrent manufacturer's suggestedretail price; and you will bereimbursed for labor at ageographically-appropriate labor ratefor Acura's recommended timeallowance.
