*Sandburg also offers AVID for both 7th and 8th grade students. The selection process for

these classes have already been completed.

Pre-Advanced English 8 and History 8

• Pre-AP courses are highly recommended for honors students planning on attending a four-year college or university. (acceptance required)

• More rigorous curriculum.• Use of primary source documents.• See course description for more

information.

Zero Period Courses (7:30-8:25)

• Spanish 1: This is a high school equivalent course taught by a high school Spanish teacher. Due to the demand for this class, if you are accepted into the class, it is a one year commitment without the option to drop.

• Zero Period P.E.: Students in our music and AVID programs have priority. Taking this course will allow students to have two electives during the regular school day (8:30-2:30). – For example, an AVID student can have AVID and play in

the band if they take zero period P.E.

due to homeroom teacher on Monday, April 20.
